Rocky’s toothy, sharp grin had gotten wider at the sorta-nervous quip he’d made; he would try to stay out of trouble, but everything in a new place could be explored and observed! Or interacted with, which sometimes seemed to become an urgent problem!

A thick-furred, gray and beige tabby tail flicked back and forth, excited, and, naturally, the feline was walking faster than he needed to.

“How come you haven’t even given me a hint yet?” Rocky asked, spinning on his heel. He was now walking backwards, facing Ryuji with one of his thick brows arched up and his lips curled into a playful smirk. “Is this place so fun that I can’t be given any details?!” He gasped, dismayed, purposely being visibly over-dramatic…!

It would appear he can be best described as "approvalsexual/approvalromantic"

He could fall in love with/get very unhealthily fixated on pleasing anyone that shows him kindness and validation, man or woman

It makes sense considering he has had so little of that after years of drifting from place to place and never really belonging anywhere after leaving the Mcmurray House

The reason that fixation is currently on Mitzi is because she literally picked him up off the street and treated him with warmth and affection, probably the first person to do so in a while

Hence his willingness to now endanger himself for booze just in the hope of pleasing her and keeping hold of the limited solid ground lackadaisy offers

If he "lets down" Mitzi and Lackadaisy goes under he will be adrift and unwanted again

You can see the pain/anxiety on him whenever he feels he has dissapointed her, or when he sees her getting too cosy with Wick, whose wealthy assistance could make him superfluous

It is perhaps not so much that he is in love with/attracted to Mitzi as a person so much as he is reliant on the validation and stability he recieves from her

As such its very easy to imagine that in an AU where Atlas was the one to do it, or Wick, or Viktor, or Zib, or any of the male cast, he would have been just as fixated and desperate to please any of them

Its especially amusing in Wick's case imagining a complete inversion of the canon

With Rocky desperate to be Wick's "number one guy" and being hostile and passive aggressive as hell to Mitzi "that home wrecking gold digger" May and doing everything to block her flirting XD

It seemed as though it were lighting his whole torso on fire; it only further cemented his belief that Mitzi could NOT find out about this. In his somewhat-delirious mind, Rocky assumed Ms. M would simply boot him right out of the whole place because he’d gotten himself into ANOTHER situation in which his life was in danger.

She couldn’t rely on someone like that.

That idea alone was enough to make his heart race.

Rocky took the washcloth from the girl and put it between his teeth. With that, eyes half open, he went still under than give a trembling thumbs up.

"Al--alright...! Here it goes..." Ivy swallowed, forcing herself to steady her hands for the procedure. Rocky was depending on her!

Taking a deep breath, she brought the needle to the wound and started slowing stitching him back up. It probably took longer than needed but she didn't wanna take any chances messing it up.

Good thing he had a washcloth in his mouth…

It seemed to take forever, the stitching; Rocky’s flattened ears lifted immediately after Ivy announced that she was done- and he promptly spat the washcloth out. “Eugh. T-tastes like soap…!”

Panting, he lifted his head and proffered a weak grin. “Thank you, Miss Pepper… ah-… now I just need to figure out how t’ make sure Miss M doesn’t find out about this… slice in my gut.”

He paused for a heartbeat, an anxious smile on his lips. “Well… if I don’t bend down or stretch, maaaaaaybe it won’t catch her eye!”

He stood, though wobbly, and huffed. “Huh-ooh… ow. That’s gonna hurt for a few days. But I still appreciate your assistance, Miss Pepper…!”

He turned and washed his hands clean of blood, blinking rather sluggishly. He didn’t bother to dry them regularly. He just shook them off.
