Oh my god working with colour for these portraits is such a luxury!! Though I do think I went overboard with the scarfs shading.

I'm intending to rework her base sprite as well, but I'm still undecided on the antlers. I want something triangular and knife like, but still pointing upwards... And space is tight with these portraits. Still, I'm pretty pleased with these, especially with how much grief these gave me. Guess either Ralsei or Lancer will be next?

Lemme tell ya, 3/4 profiles or smthn like that do not agree with pixelated deer faces. There's a reason why the Holidays faces towards to camera in da vanilla games.

Again, like the Noelle sprites I did there's definitely gonna be a lot of small tweaks but I'm pretty happy with these. My main point was to have the face at an angle and downcast, both of which were surprisingly finicky but I think I did an okay job. I want to have smthn where depending on how open/approachable a character is, the more towards the camera they face, along with whether the chin is up/down and so on. Carol might have a bit of variety with that.

But last month I finally made the move to Aseprite and things have been made a lot a lot easier. Seriously, the Noelle face sprites I did would have taken probably a whole 'nother day to get into the 'it looks just right' territory. After I get some rest this weekend I'm going to be getting back into the spriting groove

Was a bit tricky trying to nail the upswift thing my Noelle sprite has got going on but I think I did a decent job. It goes without saying that number 3 if my favourite.

Also Susie gets a lot of pockets because she strikes me as someone who prioritises practicality. A bit like me a few years ago before I discovered my fashion sense.

Noelle's walking animations should be finito tmrw, followed by Kris. After that it might be face sprites or other misc art.

Snowy is probably my favourite design outta the five. Also he'd definitely steal jokes from Seinfeld. His dad would probably have a few VHS tapes of that somewhere...

Rn I'm debating whether to give the boy a tail or not. I think it'd be cool, though with the hat sprites it'd have to be hidden like how the horns are.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really have much of an idea of how uniforms for police or sheriffs in the US are supposed to look like, other than them involving beige shirts or bullet proof vests. So these outfits are a bit of a mish-mash of various design elements.
