“Don’t worry about it,” Mihye laughed softly. “I would have thought they would want to give you at least a few more chances to rap but…” She shook her head. “You’re a good vocalist, your parts will be great.”

“i’d’ve thought so too, but they still hate me. ten years doesn’t change that,” she snorted. “thanks man. i appreciate it-- the compliment and the help.”

“The one benefit of getting older - being able to get in anywhere and all the alcohol.”

“no kidding. it’s like they have leashes on some of these younger kids.”

“moved to vietnam when i was a teenager and got scouted while there.”

“kinda ironic that they brought you back to korea.”

“Pretty much, yeah. I didn’t pack a lot of art supplies for the trip, so I think this is the best way to make sure I don’t forget anything I saw so I can paint it when we get back.”

“clever idea. i wish you well with it.”

“You did really, really well, though. Way better than most people could’ve done.”

“yeah well....a tie with kim of all people is a sore deal.”

“you too. you weren’t the worst.”

“cyrah deserved to win, though. we can agree on that.”

“you did fine. my expectations were for you to show your talent, and you did.”

“you’re not just bullshitting me right?”

“she’s our main vocalist– i think you’re fine.”

“what’s that have to do with it.”

“It’s easier than promoting on music shows, honestly. And I perform pretty early, so once I’m done, I have the rest of the day to watch other performances. Are you having a good time so far?”

“Nothing as elaborate as what I do at home, but there have been a lot of beautiful sights that I’ve done quick ones of. I don’t want to make a huge mess in our room, anyway, so I’ve mostly just been taking a lot of pictures for inspiration of what to work on when we get back.”

“i’d like to think so, though it’s hardly my place to say.”

“oh please-- who would know better than you. or her.”

“i’ve always been stupid, thank you very much.”

“yes, but boy, you’re so much stupider.”

“Maybe everyone’s just tired of us already. Everyone thinks of Hydra and Juno as DS’ sibling groups. I guess it’s a good thing that no one cares about that gimmick for us, though.”

“i like kind of being independent, honestly. it’s just...tiresome.”

“i mean, i’d imagine so. it doesn’t completely feel whole without someone you debuted with.”

“i’m glad she got her third chance at least”

“i’m not bothered. i thought yein did great, and i was proud of her.”

“i didn’t expect her to be that great.”

“Oh, of course - that’s a must. I left NYC too young to hit up any of the great bars originally, so I’m planning a whole girls night while we’re there.”
