Treadmill run today. Did negative splits with the last mile increasing from 8:30 to 8:00. Not going to win me any races but it feels good to build my speed up again.

Quick swim today. No drills, no warmup, no cool down, just get in, get it done and get out. Pad Thai was waiting right after!

Weekend of snow

Snow and a sick child kept me in most of the weekend. 7 miles on the treadmill Saturday and 30 miles indoor cycle on the trainer Sunday.

And shoveling. Lots and lots of shoveling.

A pretty lame 7 mile run this morning, but now I get to relax and watch Cars 3 with my daughter.

5:00 am lap swim today. Main set was 5x100 with each 100 between 1:39 and 1:49.

Today’s swim workout: 1000 meters 200 100 100 200 meter cool down For a total of 1 mile. The Garmin dropped a lap, likely on my breast stroke.

Today’s workout - 40 min on the trainer with 6x 20 sec sprints and the early childhood of Harry S. Truman. I now know what the ‘S’ stands for!

Oops!

Just realized today that my 20 week half Ironman training plan is actually a 21 week plan. This means my training should have started last week. Guess I’ll have to double up this week!

Today ... 1000 meter total swim with some 50m speed intervals. Got those done in 46 to 50 seconds per .... not spectacular but not too bad for week 1 (week 2?)

The rare time that I skip a Tuesday group run!
