if it’s acknowledged at all in an adaptation there’s always some weird dancing around it:

“my sex is fluid” okay that’s being a shapeshifter. that tells me nothing about your gender.

“i’m comfortable in the form of a man or a woman” okay but do you ever actively Feel Like a woman or anything other than a man.

not to mention things like marvel rivals where it’s not brought up even once.

hell even the pride specials have downplayed loki’s genderqueerness in favor of focusing on their sexuality. instead of using the Pretty Damn Transgender themes of their stories we got silly body count jokes and them turning into lady loki (not their fem form i mean “what they looked like possessing sif” lady loki?????) for a weird joke at the end of rūna’s story.

it’s basically indistinguishable from when classic loki would only turn into a woman for a specific purpose, as opposed to an actual shift in gender. as if loki is a man by default, and anything else they do is a silly bonus that has nothing to do with their identity.

and the thing is that upon becoming the god of stories, loki IS truly genderfluid and changes forms/presentation just bc they feel like it! you can notice it throughout the end of agents of asgard, defenders beyond, etc. al ewing very clearly ties loki becoming more true to themself with them being explicitly genderfluid.

so. why the reluctance from adaptations and even other comic writers to represent this? ……i don’t know! it’s an odd flavor of transphobia, almost like these writers want to have their cake (see we get representation points by mentioning the concept of gender fluidity!) and eat it too (but we don’t want to go so far as to imply she’s actually transfem or something!).

1. kris is a TEENAGER. they aren’t 8 years old. they are old enough to walk around a small town by themselves, especially an extremely safe town like hometown. the only evidence we have of the town being unsafe is the slashed tires, which toriel reports IMMEDIATELY because she cares about keeping her neighborhood safe for her child. she was under the assumption that undyne was taking care of the issue.

2. everyone lovessss to talk about how toriel “neglected” kris during chapter 4 which is just?? so?? wrong?? kris and susie told toriel that they were going to spend the day at noelle’s. noelle is a very close family friend, as is the entire holiday family. so it makes perfect sense that toriel assumed that kris and susie chose to sleepover at noelle’s, and that’s why they didn’t come home. toriel doesn’t have to breathe down kris’ neck every second in order to not be neglectful. she TRUSTS her teenage child. the town is so small that it can be explored super easily, and kris has a phone and can call if they get into trouble. considering that kris is driven to school and walks home, toriel and them clearly have built up strong trust.

3. asriel’s room being more decorated doesn’t automatically make him the favorite. as a kid, i had a pretty plain bedroom because that’s how i liked it. i didn’t like a lot of clutter. i wasn’t neglected or disliked. my mom would have bought me more decorations if i wanted them. also, considering that toriel has so many fond stories and mementos of kris, she clearly loves them as much as asriel. bffr.

i could talk more about this but i’m tired and i think my points do a good enough job. i’m not trying to say that toriel is a perfect parent. perfect parents do not exist. but she is being critiqued way too harshly by people who hate women and think all mothers aren’t good enough, and people who love projecting their own traumas onto characters who barely ever share their experiences.

i cant stand people excusing asgore and acting like he was so wronged and deserves so much better when he’s clearly a worse parent than toriel and so unstable compared to her. toriel gets drunk ONE TIME, and suddenly, she’s a demon. but asgore can be a regular STALKER who shoves his emotional baggage onto kris and basically uses kris as a pawn to try and repair his marriage, and he gets away with it! why? because he’s a man!

This au is based off of my favorite movie franchise; SING! I got the idea after rewatching the second movie, and I thought it’d be a great idea to combine two of my favorite things!

So I’m not sure if you’ve watched SING, but it’s a wonderful movie in my opinion!

In this AU, Mr. Puzzles, or Mr. Moonzles is the owner of the Puzzle Theater! He wants to give more attention to his theater, so he hosts a singing competition! Currently two of my moots ocs are in the au, and they belong to @runrabitrunrunrun and @brownii-milkshake!

He’s different than his SMG4 counterpart, as he’s more nervous and a little awkward, but he does keep some of his traits, like having perfectionism and short tempered.
