RUNform.com is out for testing
RUNform.com will help you to run with much greater joy. All you need is to record yourself running. The app will automatically analyse your run and send you feedback about your running style and what you should improve. How does it work and why did we come up with this psychorevolutionary app?
I began with triathlon after two years of active running. Thanks to swimming I realized how important the technique in sport is. But runners just don't care about it. I started to study running technique thoroughly to better understand it. I have seen tons of videos, read articles, talked to instructors. And have been running all the time.
And millions of people run as well, making the basic running mistakes, that slow them or that can cause an injury. (For example nearly all of us land on heel)
In order to get better I recorded myself running and sent it to my running coach. And here came the first problem where RUNform.com is a solution. When you record yourself, you can easily share the video with your coach, friend or community that can tell you what are the mistakes you need to focus on. Thanks to RUNform.com you can easily add drawings and comments to your videos.
But that is not enough. I wanted a professional and nearly instant feedback to my running style. Thanks to hours of studying running technique I knew that it can be narrowed to a few parameters.
It is about ratios and spaces among different parts of body and the surface, you are running on (for example your vertical oscillation, what is the angle between your foot and surface and how does it land according to centre of gravity, how high up is your back foot and what is the cadence of your steps, how long is your step…)
And then an important question was asked:
What if we were able to automatically recognize runner and his important body parts (joints, legs, head, path…) in the video and draw a frame from his posture?

Then we could know exactly what the ratios among different body parts are and what his running style is.
And that was the beginning of RUNform.com:
1. you or your friend will record you running using RUNform.com (a few seconds are enough)
2. RUNform.com will automatically analyse your running technique (it will recognize important parameters)
3. It will send you feedback about your running technique and let you know if you are not risking injury or if fixing one of the mistakes could not make you 30% faster…

RUNform.com is already functional, but still in testing mode. Analysis is functional but we are continuously improving it and making it more accurate. There is a big challenge ahead of us. We must find out the best possible way how to send you data from analysis so it would be as comprehensible and helpful to you as possible so that you could improve in no time.
And that's where we need your help.
