my self-esteem can never stay high for too long because it is so fragile. one day i feel loved and supported by everyone around me, the next my brain is hyper-focused on the body language and subtle hints people give off that say things like “you bug me,” “i don’t like you as much as i like these other people,” or “i don’t like you as much as i used to.” and each one of those tiny nuances is like a little razor blade, slicing my heart and my self-worth.
