100-Year-Old Vintage & Stunning Photographs of Paris in Color Are Captured a Few Days Before World War I Erupted

French banker Albert Kahn conducted an ambitious photography project, which required sending photographers to every continent to capture every inch of the Earth in color. The project became known The Archives of the Planet, which used a new technology called Autochrome Lumiere (an early color photography process).

Over 72,000 images were obtained by Kahn and his team, which were composed by employing groundbreaking technology and color filters composed of microscopic grains of dyed potato starch. Below are some photographs from the collection of the habitual life of the iconic city of Paris, which were taken over 100 years ago, days before World War I erupted the city in devestation.
