it's become rather obvious to me that those who are not intimate with being forcibly feminized are without the necessary context to why trans men often have these knee-jerk reactions to misogyny being declared as "Women Only experiences". lots of times the reaction is out of place; it isn't the right time nor the right words but when talking At trans guys about this phenomenon, and seemingly unaware of this, many make plays on the very language We are already familiar with. many make the claim that trans men think of ourselves as the Primary target of misogyny. instead, people would rather us think of ourselves as Accidental targets. intentionally, this obscures the ways misogyny works to create a womanhood that is forcibly imposed, how this is necessary, and how acts of misogyny done to (our, trans men's) bodies are almost always done to facilitate this. it is a denial of misogyny as it is informed by transphobia, which always allows cis women to position themselves as Real victims in contrast, even as some force trans men to become victims of our own flesh*. it is done to us mainly when we are known to resist 'female' categorization, not as a 'fellow woman'. i must say i don't mean that my specific experiences with misogyny are held by only Us, by trans men, but rather the lack of distinction is kinda the Whole Point.
