Not very fast, not very much elevation gain but it felt good and I could have kept going for a while longer but didn’t know how long my @garmin would last. All grain recipe was a lot more work than I thought, but overall I feel more confident about the process than last time. Mashed the grains at 150 f and boiled at 212f but I need a wort chiller to cut down on the cooling time because that took a long time. Fermentation will be a 2 step process, will transfer to two separate fermenters after a week one 3 and 2 gallons, by popular request, one chocolate one vanilla. Gather around boys and girls it’s brewing time…. While we wait for the #SinfulSundayNEIPA to be ready (1 more week to finish the conditioning process) we’re going to try a Stout (taking name suggestions) it’s going to be a 3 week fermentation and 2 week carbonation process. Again shooting for 5 gallon batch with about a 6% abv, and yes I’m gonna need more bottles. 5 gallon “Sinful Sunday NEIPA”… Brewed on 1/29/22, fermented for 2 weeks, bottled 2/12/22 and will be ready to drink on 2/26/22. Approximate ABV, 6%. lost a lot to settlement I wasn’t able to use without stirring up a lot of gunk. Need to figure out how to filter it out. Racking cane and bottling wand kept getting clogged. Using priming sugar for carbonation instead of carbonation drops - 4.5 oz sugar to 16 oz water.
