Found, but still lost.

It all happened so fast, Gunpowder may as well have appeared in front of me.I was stunned, and more unsettlingly...heartbroken.

I saw more clearly then than I had in a long time.

And then...

“I blacked out.” 

“Caprisun tells me that she carried me to safety, and no matter how much I begged in my feverish state, she refused to take me back.”

I can’t remember what he said, but I can’t imagine Tinsel was terribly happy.

I was too busy struggling to regain my breath to remember much of the following exchange. 

I do remember hearing say something about collecting my ashes, then seeing him ready an attack to finish me, but... 

It didn’t deter me.  I knew I would fail and so I did. 

I just hadn’t expected it to be so quick. 

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t relieved. If there wasn’t some part of me that wanted this to be over. 

I guess Gunpowder had other plans.

“How can I make hyperdeath more imposing?” 

“The beating had apparently awakened something ferocious inside of him. Before I knew it the tables had turned.”

“On its own, his sudden change was frightening.”

“But he wasn’t done yet.” 

“And by the time he was, even my current state I realized that I was no match for him alone.” 

“It’s power was incredible. I could scarcely keep up with it and neither could Tinsel.”

“For a minute, it really looked like I’d win.”

“I could’ve put an end to it.  Pressed my advantage and killed him right then and there. I’m sure I could’ve. I should’ve.  But I wasn’t in control anymore.”

“It was.”

“And it wanted to play with its food.”

“We agreed on a time and place.” 

“We met. We fought.”

“But I was genuinely no match for him. The gap between us was immeasurable. Once I realized this, I didn’t know what else to do.”

“So I fed what was left of me to the beast in my brain. An abomination made whole from my despair, soldered together with my determination. The “Killer” inside me. The Megalodon.” 

So I was thinking of how to convey the next story beat and thought of something I’ll prolly be murdered for as it completely destroys the emotional weight of it for a meme.
