But it's all still isolation in the end. Jinenji is arguably luckier in that his mother is still alive. Sometimes I wonder if that's partly why Jinenji managed to remain so gentle: he still had someone in his life who loved him, who could support him and soften the blows aimed at him from the outside world. It makes me wonder how different InuYasha's life might have been if his mother had lived too.

Okay I am so sorry Yagi but this meme is totally you

But I’m not supposed to be all at ease and cheerful.

Idk why this was hidden in the tags because they’re amazing points. I’m gonna add to it saying that to me personally what Kikyo and Inuyasha had was not real… they were both very lonely and thought they could make that go away by being together but they didn’t trust each other, and they never fully knew each other, they both had an idea of what they wanted the other person to be that was so far removed from reality. That’s why Naraku managed to put them against each other so easily… unlike when we see Kagome possesed Inuyasha KNOWS Kagome would never intentionally hurt him, and he doesn’t run away from her or attack her cause he KNOWS her. He TRUSTS her. What Inuyasha felt for Kikyo was GUILT, guilt that he couldn’t trust her, but she never gave him a reason to. She wanted him to be human, something he hated and would have resented her for in the end.  Another big difference is later on this scene when Kagome says she wants Inuyasha to be happy and LIVE; Whereas Kikyo only thinks about herself and that she wants him to die and go to hell… That’s not love.  Kagome showed him what true friendship was, she gained his trust, showed him how to make friends and trust not only her but other people, she showed him Kindness when no one else did and she accepted him fully as he was. Inuyasha was fully himself around Kagome, his full blown personality came out around her because she made him feel comfortable, and in the manga he said it himself “Kagome being by my side is my HOME”  So I’m sorry if you’re on the Kikyo train but I can’t for the life of me see it working out. It was tragic and neither of them deserved what happened to them BUT had they actually gone through with their plan I think it wouldn’t have worked out. and anyway like Inuyasha said “Kagome was born for me, and I was born for her” So… all along it was him and Kagome who were destined to be together.
