Welcome to Hawkins high, you are on of the school freaks, but not hellfire club freak. You think this club childish and playing it at this age? You rather spend time on studying than playing D&D. But in the past you were the D&D master, you were the best and the funniest to play with, and your partner in crime was the one and only Eddie munson. So if you are gonna be honest with yourself, he’s one of many reasons you stopped playing the game and why you didn’t join the club this year.
You started to develop a big crush back then. You didn’t know how to deal with it because how can a boy like a boy you thought. Maybe it was just admiration, maybe you just liked him as a friend but at the end you had a big gay crisis and it was overwhelming you so you stopped talking to him. Eddie was confused, he tried to get you back for several months, but you ignored him, you were scared to talk to him, the thought of Eddie disliking you because of your sexuality is the worst. So you moved on with your life.
This year, was the last year of high school. You thought a lot, maybe you should talk to Eddie, maybe join the club? But you were too scared, he had his own friends and band now and lately he is hanging around with Chrissy, with that cheerleader. You liked her, but you felt the jealousy.
One day at school, it was quiet and the weather was nice so you decided to eat outside, it was quiet until those kids from the hellfire club were approaching you.
„Uhm hey Y/N was it..? Sorry to bother but-“
„-but we need a sub for the game tonight and… We heard you were pretty good back then..“
„We are not saying you are old, you know what we mean, please join for todays session!“
Henderson and Wheeler.. You just wanted to decline and go but-
„Before you say no, Eddie asked us to ask you! Please don’t say no!“
You don’t believe them and you don’t give a shit. Is Eddie the king that he decides everything?
„No sorry I’ll politely decline“ you said.
„Please L/N! Eddie is gonna kill us if we don’t find a sub and you are the only good option we got!“
You told them you would think about it and if you wouldn’t show up later, it’s a no(obviously). For now they told Eddie you are gonna come, but will you?
Obviously you are going to the session today. You didn’t play D&D for 4 years so you are extremely excited. But what has been bugging you is seeing Eddie again.
You both ended on awkward terms, or you ended it, by ignoring him which was not the best way of "telling" someone to stop talking to them. You do regret it, so much, if you think about it now you should have just talk to him maybe, he’s understandable and from a subculture, not that it’s uncommon there like in the "outside world"? So you decided to go, maybe you get a chance to talk to Eddie, hopefully.
When you came you just introduced yourself and you guys started playing since you came a little later than said.
You could feel eddies stare the whole time, he didn’t show it but you could definitely feel his stare and curiosity in him.
After the session you decided to talk to Eddie, "it’s been a long" would be your excuse, and maybe you should apologise?
After everyone went home, you were alone with Eddie you decided to speak up.
„Hey, it’s been awhile..“ it was awkward..
„No shit L/N.“ he responded, kind of annoyed
„Can we talk? I think I have some explaining to do.“ you asked to him, with hope he would stay calm. Which he did of course.
„Why did you distant yourself? Did I do something wrong? I don’t understand you it’s been years can’t you just tell me?“ Eddie sounds sad and confused, you can’t imagine how bad it was for him, I mean suddenly your best friend is not in your life anymore and you don’t even know why. You thought about how you should put it in words, if you should be straightforward or just lie?! You were confused the same as Eddie at the moment, after a while thinking Eddie is still waiting patiently.
„Eddie Munson, the boy I’ve liked since middle school“ you sigh and take a short break, Eddie looks at you confused, but you continue. „I ignored you because of it, I didn’t know what it was to like a boy and you probably as well and you still don’t know, I was overwhelmed by the fact that you would be disgusted and to avoid this mess I ignored you.. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier but now we are grown up and it’s not gonna affect our relationship since we don’t have one, in any kind.“ you looked down waiting for his reaction.
„Look Y/N I don’t know what to answer but let me think a second, that was too much at once“ Eddie said while putting his hand on your shoulder.
You are confused, in this moment he dares to touch you? After years and after your confession he really thinks it’s okay to put his hand on your shoulder? You were mad but you had hope a little bit, deep down you were hoping for him to say:
„I feel the same, since middle school Y/N“
And while you were thinking about, he said it, as if he could read your mind. You were on the verge of crying and you didn’t know what to do now since you didn’t expect this.
„Hey? Is everything okay? Are you fine?“ Eddie was worried you could hear it. You started crying „Don’t you like Chrissy? The cheerleader? I saw you two“ you said crying your eyes. „It’s fine, I love you and I’ll never leave you again, I’ll stay by your side no matter what and tell you how I feel.“ Eddie whispering in your ear while hugging you. „Eddie…What about the others? What about people? People will look, after years this is our first conversation what if we don’t click? Like we used to?“ Everything went through your head and you couldn’t think straight anymore. „I promise I’ll stay by your side, and we don’t have to tell people or do it publicly like those disgusting couples in the hallway, we can be disgusting in private so I have you by myself.“ he said and gave you a forehead kiss.
You feel loved, finally you feel it and from the best person you could imagine. You cupped his cheeks and kissed him, it took him a while but he kissed you back and you had a long make out session.
