Things to know about me: I love videogames, art, cute things, anime, books, cartoons, animals~!

A pretty chill but excitable introvert, I'm a generally open-minded person, and also respectful. Sometimes too, I am hot-headed (I'm talkin' as a bull-headed Taurus here lol). However, I always enjoy making new friends if possible.

As a creator, I don't have many boundaries set in fiction. "There is no restriction in fiction." That's my motto. But I also follow certain guidelines.

1- Give it substance. It has to have a reason to be there.

2- Remember I'm not the characters. Just because they come from my mind, that doesn't mean I am them.

3- Have fun with it!

One more thing- It's okay if you don't like things I do or think the same way I do. It's also okay for you to like things I don't (unless you're homophobic or sexist or anything to that caliber; then I don't like you).

So, now that that's all outta the way, if you're still reading, have a sneak peek at what I'm working on!

I am currently writing NA/Adult dark fantasy/horror series "Hollow's Vessels"! The stories vary between "New Adult" and "Adult", so I'd recommend being at least 16+ for this series (i know not very wise but that's how it turned out and i go with my gut).

The first book is "Wolf's Red", which is more NA, a "Little Red Riding Hood" retelling of sorts. It's about a young, introverted girl named Rosella Bloom who comes from a secluded family, and deep within the forest she lives beside evil is stirring... and she is part of the key to stopping it.

Finding the Lost Boys, book 1 of my #PeterPan retelling, is up for preorder, to release Oct 1.

Hi Tumblr. Please allow me to reintroduce myself. I’m Amanda N. Newman, a self-published author of YA and NA fantasy novels (often with aspects of other genres blended in). 

Currently, I’m working on a new urban fantasy series called the Shrouded Curses series. The series is geared towards the Upper YA/New Adult age range (basically, I’d recommend the series for age 16+). Shrouded Curses is kind of a Yu-Gi-Oh meets The Owl House (with some Jekyll and Hyde elements mixed in from book 2 on) kind of series that follows 2 main characters (books 1 and 4 are told from the point of view of one main character. books 2 and 3 are told from the point of view of the other main character. and books 5, 6, and 7 are told from the point of view of both main characters.). Also, book 1 and book 2 take place concurrently, though every book after those two fits on a linear timeline. If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to follow me for updates, especially as I get closer to being ready to start releasing the books starting with the first book Shrouded Guard in spring 2024. 

I’m also planning on at least one novella (set at the end of the time skip between the end of book 1 and the beginning of book 2), a book set at the same time as book 1 but shows what the other main character is up to during that time, and a companion book from a side character POV set during the same time as book 3 (if there’s enough interest, I might do other side character POV books).

On the side, I’ve also begun plotting out the first book in The Legend of Hunter and Luka duology(?). TLoHaL is a YA reverse portal fantasy that is kind of a The Owl House meets Lilo and Stitch meets Veronica King’s Down the Well (possibly with some Spirited Away aspects mixed in). This book(s) is still in the very early stages so I’m not sure when you can expect it, especially since I’m actively working on Shrouded Curses and that’s taking a good part of my focus.

If anyone is reading this and thinks my name sounds familiar, you might know me as the author of the (now complete) YA contemporary fantasy trilogy Hybrid Empire or the (currently on hiatus) NA dystopian dark fantasy series Tales From the Outback.

In addition to all this, I’m also a New Media college student who is hoping to graduate with their associates degree this December and possibly go on for a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Arts/Production with a concentration in Game Design, Screenwriting, and Web Design. (This is the other thing that’s taking up a lot of my focus)

Since Twitter seems to be going downhill, I hope to find something of a following here. And update this page more often.

I've made a couple maps for my 2nd book, Child of the Forest ^_^ They are the same map but showing different information. This first one shows the 8 provinces of Manena and their capital cities.

This second one shows the traditional route for Brothers and Sisters going on Tour and Pilgrimage to all 8 Order Keeps, the route Hemi decides they should take instead, and the detours they have to make along the way or will have to make in the future.

If you notice there are two towns not on the top map because they are two towns they detour to. Riverton because Vivia gets cranky and Neoma convinces Hemi to let them spend one night not on the road and Riverton because of an emergency.

Child of the Forest only covers their trip from Cape Eastcliff, to Crater Port, Westshore and then Starkeep. Child of the Sun will have Nightwood and beyond!
