DIY Gravity Water Filtration
DIY Gravity Water Filter (No Tools Needed) Emergency Survival or Off-Grid Use
1. Gather a container (like a plastic bottle or glass jar) and cut off the bottom if needed.
2. Layer your filter materials from bottom to top: Sand (finest layer): Catches small particles. Pebbles: Stops the sand from escaping and catches larger debris. Charcoal (from a fire or purchased): Helps remove odors, toxins, and bacteria.
3. Secure the layers in the container using cloth or grass as a plug or mesh at the spout end to hold materials in place.
4. Set it above a clean collection bowl so gravity can do the work.
5. Pour water slowly through the top. The cleanest water will drip out the bottom.
Important: This is a basic filter for dirt and some pathogens. Always boil or treat water after filtering to ensure itβs safe to drink.
