If you’re looking for a ‘normal’ family roleplay, without supernatural elements, you could consider a Modern Family/Yours, Mine and Ours dynamic -- with an extended or suddenly blended family, there’s the potential for lots of family drama as well as feel good vibes, mentoring, dealing with crushes, etc.

If you are looking for something that is a little supernatural, there’s always something like Van Helsing/Hansel & Gretel, where the family has spent their time hunting the creatures of the night (or in reverse, a family of creatures of the night trying to avoid the hunters and live as normally as possible!)

Covens of witches are sometimes family, as well, if you’re interested in magic

The Roman, Greek and Norse gods and demigods are a large family group if you want to go even more superpowered.

There’s always the tried and true twins plot, if you’re looking for good old family feels.

If your character is involved in drugs or has a mental illness, the second muse can be a hallucination.

There’s also time travel, one muse going back in time to stop their younger self from making a horrible mistake. A quick fandom example would be:--- Sirius Black going back in time to tell himself, James and Lily not to make Peter their Secret Keeper.This is a great option if you play a canon character and you have a canon event that you want to change.

Have a group of friends who all play the same muse as you? Check out an Orphan Black clone club option, where you can have as many of the same people as you want.

If you’re a fantasy roleplay, there’s always the option of having a spell or potion go wrong and either splitting a character into their light and dark sides, or creating a clone until they can reverse it.

There’s also the multiple timeline/universe/mirrorverse idea -- the darkest timeline from Community, for example, were you have two different versions of characters colliding.

Hello! You can do stuck in an island rp, since I just answered a question relating to that. Another idea that never gets old is a demigod rpg. If you and your friends OCs are all friends it can be a trip maybe, just a journey to nowhere. But have a few more ideas that I can think of:

Suspense/Horror:

friends who summoned a dark spirit gone to hell, maybe someone got possessed

they got stuck in a horrific place and are trying to survive

4 strangers in a dystopic universe find each other and look for a safe haven ( this is pretty similar to a zombie one but you can change some things )

Romance:

Gossip Girl/Cruel Intentions kind of AU

Soulmate AU where everyone is meant to be with someone: muse a and b are happily in a relationship but they’re not together, one of them suddenly meets their soulmate.  

Blind date AU where they’re all set-up tbh

Angst:

4 broken people ( reasons up to you ) who just want to be happy

Maybe a really tragic accident brought them together and they all lost someone

I’m not sure if you’re asking me how they got stuck on said island but they could get stuck on an island by:

being left behind by a group of people, maybe a field trip

accident like if it’s a plane/ship crash or what

being chased by something and they end up lost

others

for what could happen or where they could get if they get stranded, you can do a lot honestly! They can try and make something to go back (if it’s really an island, it could be a raft or something, etc). They can just wait for help and try to survive while waiting. They can also argue a lot about which path to take. You can just ask yourself what you would do if you ever get stuck in some place and incorporate those to the story! As for where they could go, well the first could always be home. If it’s a dangerous place, they can go out of it. Maybe look for a friend or just a person who could possibly help them.
