there's already a history with characters who have clothing items as their vital instruments essentially using them as armor (rudo, amo, zodyl, shikage, enjin (in a way)). it's always been a way of preventing people from getting close, intentionally or not (and i truly don't believe it is intentional in amo's case, but that's another post). i think that guita is much the same way, but she doesn't seem to have the same problems with intimacy that the other cleaners have. it's the acquisition of the armor that i'm most interested in

i reiterate, i have no evidence, but given that the ground is an incredibly hostile place for children to be (between the corrupt police, slave traffickers, and Air That Kills You, i'd say they have it pretty rough) and guita is not biologically bro's child, it's fair to assume that something happened to her before joining the cleaners.

there's also her being able to turn into a kaiju, making herself physically larger and more imposing, though she doesn't use her size that way. there's also also the way that she talks: it's almost excessively childlike (maybe i'm crazy, but i wouldn't have dreamed of talking like that when i was fourteen; i stopped doing that in fourth grade). she, like most of the other kids in the cast, was probably preyed upon, maybe by someone she trusted, and used Guita (the instrument) to feel big.

Anyway, why are some ppl acting as if they didn't see Jabber when he said that being beaten makes him feel aroused, or that he was erect when he was beaten by older men!? * enjin, tamsy, delmon *

Jabber enjoys and loves fighting and pain, even if it isn't necessarily for a sexual purpose. They still excite him, which is why he always wants more, because he is never satisfied... He is the embodiment of lust and dark desires.

...Canonly, he probably sliced his upper arm, as you can see in the scene after he's rubbing it. But I adore reading people's interpretations!

where zanka is was engaged to his longtime partner who suddenly and randomly called off their engagement to marry someone else and he is…Not taking it well

maybe they were engaged for a while, because their families set them up to be engaged for business reasons since the nijuku’s are Very Important and rich business tycoons etc etc

and they weren’t in love or anything (lavender marriage perhaps? 🤔) but they were at the very least friends and they were in this whole ordeal together and so zanka considers the breaking off of their engagement a betrayal of sorts and soooooooo him, riyo and enjin (or rudo, maybe?) go bar hopping !

and zanka is getting progressively more and more drunk as he drinks his feelings away (something something he still hasn’t necessarily unpacked his relationship with duty and obligation to his family and so now he feels like he’s drowning Without a Purpose)

aaaand so he’s drinking a bunch and trying to find someone to dance with and move on after spending practically half of his life with this other person (something something his Entire Life has been planned out for him) and he’s just feeling Empty and Alone and everyone on the dance floor is boring him soooo he heads to the bar to grab another drink!

and as he’s sitting at the counter loudly (and drunkenly) complaining to riyo, guess who can’t help but overhear?

jabber, the owner of the bar and their current bartender, who has not only been watching zanka sloppily complain (loudly) about his current lot in life, but is also the most beautiful man zanka has ever seen.

and so when he comes over to them to see if they needed anything, zanka just stares at him, wide-eyed, jaw practically on the countertop.

and before riyo can jump in to be like “we’re fine, thanks!” zanka decides to take that moment to loudly announce “dibs!” to anyone and everyone in the immediate vicinity.

and riyo and rudo both facepalm, completely embarrassed as they watch their normally straight-laced friend attempting to sloppily flirt with the incredibly amused bartender.

but maybe someone else tries to flirt with jabber at some point and zanka gets all Possessive and is like “i called fuckin’ dibs.” and practically almost gets in a bar fight over this man, throwing glasses and bottles and just generally being Off the Wall Insane, which has jabber all 😍🥰💕🤩 and riyo and rudo Embarrassed to the point of Mortification thinking they’re about to get kicked out and banned.

but jabber is Very Much Into It!!!! and by the time zanka makes it home and wakes up with the Hangover of all Hangovers and a faded phone number written on his arm in pen, and riyo has to be the one to tell him all of what happened yesterday and zanka is just like:
