nevaeh had tried to medicate herself for her adhd, she gave it a shot for a month a while ago, but the pills made her feel too numb, like they were dulling everything that made her her. sure, they made her less hyperactive, but they also made her someone she didn’t recognize. she knew she could be a lot sometimes, too loud, forgetful, jumping from one thing to another, struggling to focus, but she was tired of feeling like she had to shrink herself just so people would like her. as her brother pointed out how people should chew before talking, she just smiled, cheeks full of pizza. she swallowed before replying. "you saw my vision," she laughed, "people would shit themselves if they went to see that movie," she added, already amused at the idea. "i think i just figured out my halloween campaign this year," she grinned, taking another bite. "embrace it," she rolled her eyes, "i wanted to grow taller, but i guess my body used all the energy on thinking instead," she joked. when royalty told her she didn’t have to tone herself down for people to like her, she sighed softly, it was easy to say, harder to actually believe. she craved connection, not just wanted it, needed it. she was tired of being the third wheel, sometimes the fourth when lennon joined, she wanted her own thing, someone to text late at night, someone to go on dates with. "yeah… that’s true," she nodded. as he gave her advice, she smiled. "thanks, royalty," she said softly, "i needed brotherly advice," she added, dropping the crust back into the box before leaning forward on her hands, satisfied. "invite him over?" she raised her eyebrows, "as in bring him over so i can threaten him?" she laughed. "i will when you bring your boyfriend," she teased, "they’ll get along, they’re both quiet," she pointed out. then her tone softened slightly, curiosity taking over. "have you ever thought about what you want your life to look like with your boyfriend? like, in the future? do you see yourself getting married, him moving here… kids?" she asked, not prying, just following her train of thought.
Royalty huffed out a quiet laugh, shaking his head at her with clear amusement as she went on about her vision. He leaned back slightly, watching her with that familiar mix of fondness and disbelief, like he’d seen this exact brand of chaos his whole life and still wasn’t tired of it. “You’re actually insane,” he said, pointing at her with a half-smirk. “But I’m not even gonna lie, people would pay to see that. You’d have a whole cinema traumatised by the end of it.” At her comment about her height, he snorted, shaking his head again. “Yeah, all your stats went into hyperness, alertness and chaos. None left for height,” he teased, nudging her foot lightly with his own. But when she softened, thanking him, he noticed straight away. His expression eased, something more genuine settling in as he looked at her properly. “Hey,” he said, quieter now, but still warm. “I mean it. You’re a lot, yeah, but not in a bad way. The right people aren’t gonna need you to tone it down. They’ll just keep up or get left behind.” He shrugged lightly. “And trust me, someone’s gonna be obsessed with all that energy that you have." Then, of course, she had to ruin the sincerity. Royalty let out a short laugh, raising an eyebrow at her. “Threaten him? Nevaeh, you’d scare him off before he even sat down,” he said, amused. “At least let the guy get through the front door first before you start one of your speeches." He gave her a look when she fired back about his boyfriend, lips twitching. “First of all,” he started, pointing at her again, “mind your business.” There was no bite to it, just playful deflection. “Second, yeah, they probably would get along. Sit there in silence while you interrogate everyone in the room.” At her last question, though, he paused. He leaned back a little more, one hand resting against his jaw as he considered it, eyes drifting for a second before coming back to her. “Yeah,” he admitted after a beat, voice more grounded now. “I’ve thought about things short term." A small, almost private smile tugged at his lips. “I don’t really plan it all out like that,” he went on, glancing down briefly before shrugging. “I like spontaneity in my life too." Then, because he couldn’t stay serious for too long, his expression shifted again, eyes narrowing slightly in playful suspicion. “Why?” he asked, tilting his head. “You planning your whole future with the mystery big biceps tree loving guy already?"
