Why did they have to do the first wife like this?

There is a story about a slippery priest named Robert Colynson who managed to cheat her out of five pounds. He had offered to go to Rome and to say prayers for the nuns. He was paid five pounds in 1453 but he never went.

Ewan Forbes inherited the title of Baronet in 1965, but was challenged by his cousin, who argued that Ewan's "re-registration" as male in 1952 was illegitimate.

The court case was heard in complete secrecy, and so the affirmation of Ewan's rights as his brother's male heir could not be used as case law in other cases involving disputed gender.

Forbes was equally candid with the press, describing the situation to one reporter as "a ghastly mistake. I was carelessly registered as a girl in the first place, but of course, that was forty years ago ... the doctors in those days were mistaken, too ... I have been sacrificed to prudery, and the horror which our parents had about sex."

It is just a judge. But it's a good word.
