Yeah, so I’m one of those alcoholics whose chaos is only mid-range, leaving only a mid-range level of motivation to not be an alcoholic. But in truth, an alcoholic is and alcoholic is an alcoholic. If you’ve ruined (or at the very least severely and in some ways irrevocably disturbed your sense of self, guilt, shame and overall worth as a human being occupying physical space and perceived energy) your life or your relationships for the best part of a decade or more; you know what the fuck you are. The society you live in, mental weakness and lack of discipline leads only to a cycle of dysfunction, fear, endless offshoots of anger, danger and subsequent hurt and suffering. You know what you have to do. Confront yourself.
