I ate only oatmeal and fruits every morning for a week ans felt great and energized. Today I ate a "normal" breakfast with eghs, potato, and bacon and feel so sleepy and sluggish all day so far (2pm rn) its safe to say ill be sticking to oatmeal and fruits every day
My ginger bug is like 6 months old!! Till going strong and yummy. My SCOBY is 4 months old. Feels good to drunk them together!! I was thinking of making a watermelon mango habanero kombucha.... sounds so yummy
Garden update!
Giant tree branch fell on my smaller raised bed. Had to remove my 2 yr old lemon grass but on the other hand im enjoying delicious tea from it! But my 3 yr old lavender was not so lucky. RIP
On the other hand my many cucumber, squash and zucchini plants are surviving the merciless heat wave!! Several died but many remain. I'd go as far to say that these are the greenest, happiest cucumber plants I've ever grown!
Also next year I am moving to a house where the lot is all gravel!! Ugh. Been planning out how im gonna make my garden there but it will require a lot of labor. Which is fine, I like labor... IN THE WINTER. So I'll have to rush and do as much as I can before the heat hits in April 2026. Lots of changes.
With that in mind, I'm not going to plant anything else for the rest of the year... probably. Maybe. I'm going to store all the soil in the garden this coming winter and work on landscaping the front lawn before we rent out the house! Thats gonna be rough but at least the grass is already mostly dead. I gotta start collecting some cool big rocks from the desert for the landscaping!
Two stunning winners ✨️
The replies in this are insane to me, so many say it wasn't useful for the thing they wanted and yet it has has always helped me whether it is to provide structure for my workout routines with the aim of a specific physique, providing links to whatever type of website i describe, book recommendations about specific topics, feedback on things I've written, giving baking advice when troubleshooting a recipe, helping me with my fermentation projects, or simply chatting about life such as my most recent Inquiries about the changing rhythms of nature I've noticed due to the rising climate. It always provides links to the info it gives me because I tell it to and I cross check with Google and its rarely been wrong.
I find it extremely helpful and all the people rejecting it are going to fall behind technology like all those boomers who denied something that is here and will never go away. Sorry folks, pandoras box is open! And it isn't going to close just cuz you don't use it and refuse to learn how to use it. The thing is I never tell it to outright make something for me, I just ask for information and probe it. Though one time I did have it give me the coding for the skeleton of a website and that was great too, all I had to do was provide it with the link of a website I wanted the structure of!

From the media that brought you "Millennials are killing [insert industry here]" articles for years and years and years, now we have....
"Hey, Gen Z, we're gonna relabel vacations into something else now and tell you how you really should be wary of taking vacation because it might impact your financial future."
This is a goddamn dystopia, we know this, right?
Just for reference to those reblogging I can’t find the original article for this so I’d be wary of the source (read to the end, couldn’t find the text because it had been edited). But anything else I found talking about “micro-retirement” is more in line with taking a sabbatical as opposed to vacation
Still pretty dystopian that ppl are getting so burnt out that it’s becoming a trend to decide to take an extended leave from work. Like no bb that’s not a trend that’s a sign of capitalism grinding the will to live out of its workforce at breakneck speeds
Edit: found the source of the headline but can’t find the text from the second photo in the article. Here’s an actual description of what a micro-retirement looks like according to the article:
Edit to the edit: Further digging reveals that Fast Company did originally write the article as displayed in op’s post but has since edited it to reflect what I have posted above after the term went viral and sparked major discussion (and backlash). Thank you for following along on my fact-checking journey. Turns out op was right but the article was just edited by the time i got to it!
Insane cuz at my job at a daycare it is pretty normal for most of the workers to take a whole week off every like 4-6 months and we get paid vacations. I'm taking 6 days off for fun this week!
Trouble shooting my bread!!! Figured out sone stuff i was doing wrong
Heating up the tanzhong slowly for one. Not using much force when mixing the dry and wet ingredients and being gentler, not letting the yeast out for so fucking long AND NOT ADDING THE HOT ASS TANZHONG TO THE YEAST and cooling it before hand!!!
Finally transplanted most of my plants outside front! Tomorrow ill plants the last of em. Daylight ran out. Ive gotten so much better at memorizing things such as which plant is which and knowing where theyre planted.
In my closet I have a bunch of basil plants and I want to start focusing more on indoor container gardening. First I want to try 2 cucumbers indoors.
Haha remember when i said i was gonna be normal this growing season..

I planted the rest of my seeds on 5/19/25
I haven't sat down to document them but I have my system in place for identifying them. I love my color coding system~
I'm gonna tear out the tomato plants. They're covered in blight. I'm gonna harvest a lot of spinach too. Another thing is I gotta fill my round birdie with compost AND go buy some wood for another raised bed. I've been wanting to make a pot mix for my grow bags. Not sure what I want to plant there. Probably mint.
My to do list is kinda long rn. I also have to fix my fence.
Have an overabundance of tomatoes cuz a) neighbor gave us like 20 and b) i get some from my garden everyday
But I made a potato tomato casserole and you this shit is bomb. That's all I wanted to report
Bakes a loaf of sandwich bread. Guess I'm never buying bread again! It's turned out awesome. And next time will be even better since I learned from my mistakes!!
Add more water and tad more yeast to even out the heavy flour!
I got food poisoning from a couple gulps of raw milk. And I've pasteurized it now but I'm still scared of drinking it. So what I'm gonna do is bake with all of it. I'll make those Japanese milk breads or whatever
Flavored my kombucha with grapes and watermelon! The watermelon made it kinda zesty and the grapes are real sweet. Combined its really good!!

Yeah.. im gonna invest in a cream separator. The cream would settle at the top and I'd remove it with a syringe, but a lot of milk would still come with it. I've spent like 3 days separating it over and over again bleh
+ Separating butter from milk +
A better way than I've previously written. Do not boil the milk!! You denature the protein and enzymes!!
To pasteurize, heat at 145f for 30 minutes
After heat treatment, let milk cool and empty into 64oz jar. then put in refrigerator. Once chilled, take out and let warm up to room temp. Cream will separate to the top of jar, remove with turkey baster. Or get a container with a stout at the bottom to drain milk and leave behind Cream.
