Roxan/ne

Mechanic (Demeas)- Demeas, son of Democrates, was born and raised in Syracuse. He comes from a long line of intellectuals and inventors. He sawed off his arm and replaced it with a complicated prosthetic to prove a point. Demeas is a hard worker and often loses track of time while working on his projects. He is friendly when around people and likes to cook for his teammates. He, Taran, and Haribert work together a lot and bond over a shared love of science. He wears light, loose-fitting clothing since his role has little combat. He wears a sundial that was passed down through the generations. When I drew him with a beard, I did not intend for him to look like Socrates, but here we are.

Spear bearer (Menecreates)- Menecreates left his mother and sisters in Mytilene to earn some money and kill people. His spears are heavy, and he takes care of (and names) each one. He is soft spoken and intelligent, but also violent. His shield serves as decoration more than protection. He works well with most of the other mercs and tolerates Ireneus. He spends his free time polishing his spears or talking with Haribert. His father was killed in the Mytilenean revolt, and he feels a sense of responsibility to protect his family. His dialect is very different from the more "central" ones the others have, which causes some language barrier.

Observer- The observer is an Athenian spy. He does not share personal information. He is one of the more isolated group members, and he has no problem with that. He wears fine linen and soft leather sandals that allow him to move quietly. He used to wear lots of oils and perfumes, but had to stop because enemies could smell him before he could backstab them. He relies on a small dagger to get the job done. In terms of relationships, he has more enemies than friends. He has a little in common with Haribert and Demeas, and sometimes fraternizes with them. He butts heads with Ireneus a lot.

Chemist (Taran)- As a chemist, Taran uses his knowledge to create various combustible substances and brew beer. He lost his eye in an explosion, but he is still just as dangerous without depth perception. He wears bronze armor, a tunic, and a cape, which is a lot for the Mediterranean, but he looks cool, and that's all that really matters. He is friendly with the enemy hoplite and often sneaks out to hang out with him.

Surgeon (Haribert Hludwig)- Haribert came from Germania to study Greek forms of medicine, and also to flee the penalties for medical malpractice. He wears a cloak and chiton, which he dries his hands on, but in the cases where he goes on the battlefield, he wears more protective armor. Since this is taking place (very roughly) around the 400 bcs and Archimedes (the person) lived around 200 years later, Archimedes (the dove) is not named after him. It's just a coincidence. Medic's prescription is pretty low, so he doesn't wear glasses, even though Demeas offered. He is happy just to experiment in his iatreion, tend to the doves, or chat with Menecreates. 

Archer (Milon)- Milon was abandoned by his Cretan parents and found and raised by a Spartan couple. They tried their best to raise him as a hoplite, but his Cretan aim prevailed. He is patient and cautious in battle, which translates to his behavior out of battle. He and Ireneus "hang out" often, which basically constitutes Ireneus running around while Milon whittles. He is polite with the rest of the team. He and his parents exchange letters often. They don't agree with his lifestyle, but they love him nonetheless. He usually wears light linen and leather boots, given that he is a ranged fighter and there is less of a need for heavy armor. He has a water bladder for various liquids.

Foot soldier (Irene)- Irene is a Spartan hoplite. He was actually born underweight, and his parents abandoned him. Despite that, he somehow survived and became a Spartan hoplite. He has brain damage from past head trauma and other psychological issues, which have a huge impact on his personal relationships. He also has ear damage. He surprisingly gets along well with the other mercs, so long as they keep telling him that they are Spartans. He wears heavy armor, which is both protection and a symbol of honor. He rarely takes his helmet off, and he even sleeps in it sometimes.

Courier (Ireneus)- Ireneus has an Athenian father and a Corcyrean mother. He doesn't know his father's identity, only that he is Athenian, which he resents. He prides himself on his "λαγνεία βόμβος" tattoo, which he bears in honor of his idol Timaeus Jonas. He wears two small sticks with unique notches as a form of identification, aka dog tags. He doesn't wear shoes (against the Observer's demands) since footwear gives him blisters.

Fire-bearer- The fire-bearer wears a Greek chorus mask and bandages, either to hide nasty burn scars or their identity. No one on the team knows where they came from or their name. They (mis)use an incense burner by swinging it in a way to oxygenate the flames. They stick close to Irene and Ireneus, but are not at all opposed to playing with the other mercs or bothering the Observer.

I pumped this out pretty quickly, but I'm happy to answer questions/just talk about the au!! I understand that there are some inaccuracies, some of those are intentional. I'm really excited about this...

There's a file ingame (no screenshot, sry) that says the blood of 115 infected was administered to a "Marie" a.k.a the Girl. We start the puzzle by going down to the care center basement and grind up 115 bodies.

I counted them, but you can also wait roughly 15 minutes. Since all the blood needs to be 'administered', you CANNOT kill any zombies in the grinder. I recommend shooting their kneecaps and kicking them into the grinder. If you did it right, the message after draining the blood is 'a ton of blood flowed out'. If you get 'a lot' instead, re-do it. After your elevator struggle with Marie, pick up her hand.

Take it to a microscope to analyse and you will get this message:

lovely. Now, do you remember this guy?

behind him, we can make out an '8'. Hence, we go to the Care Center bathroom and flush the toilet exactly 8 times. If you do this, you'll find this in the room with the exploding blood tank at the bottom of the stairs

Put this in the item box for now, it will stay there for any subsequent playthroughs. While playing as Leon, enter the basketball court after defeating the tyrant. There, you'll find a figure's head. Kick it into the fallen basketball hoop, and this pops up

After that, we return to Kendo's gun shop where the rest of the figure is. Interact with it to get this message

That makes our code GGC GUC GUG UCU. To find out what the symbols mean, go to the microscope in the East Wing Blood Lab in the Care Center to find an engraving:

Because I'm a space nerd, I know that that is roughly the distance between Earth and Sun, hence G = Sun. Now go to the Elevator room in the Courtyard. Take the hourglass that seemed useless in former playthroughs, unscrew it, and let the sand fall until you can read an engraving in the top

Once again, I know this because I love space, but that's roughly the distance between Earth and the moon, hence U = moon.

In the Grace Ashcroft's Blood Analysis Report, it says "C = 4.2 ly". 4.2 light years is the distance to Proxima Centauri, the star closest to Earth (after the sun) so C = star.

Fetch Marie's doll and Emily. I also grabbed Marie's severed hand because it enabled me to be able to interact, and head to the Lead Researcher's Office. There, input the code three at a time. If you did it correctly, you'll hear a creepy laugh and get the screen I showed above.

In 2018, you were responsible for the death of one Alyssa Ashcroft. One piece in the puzzle that was Elpis. When you returned to the safe house the doctor had set up for you, he was already there waiting. You sniffed the air a few times and caught his scent.

“Dr. Gideon?” You called, looking around. Sure enough, the big man rounded the corner seconds later. You stood up a little straighter in his presence.

“I take it that she’s been taken care of?” He took a few slow strides in your direction. “Yes.” You respond, as If the blood spatter all over your coat, face, and hair wasn’t a good enough sign. Victor smiles and those gold teeth of his catch the light slightly. “Good, very good,” He hums. “A little more patience and all the pieces will fall into place.” You barely manage to bite back a smile at his praise.

In a few strides the behemoth of a man is right in front of you. His snake like grip curls around your wrist, firmly guiding you closer. “Any injuries?” He tilts his head and rakes his gaze across you. There’s so much blood that it’s impossible to tell who it could belong to. “Nothing that won’t heal on its own.” You shrug. Victor purses his lips but accepts the answer.

Victor turns and ducks into the small kitchenette, returning with a wet towel. “Come. Let me clean you up a bit before Connections come to fetch you.” He beckons you closer. You oblige before you even think about it. With one large, scaley hand he tilts your chin up to get a better angle and begins to gently wipe the towel over the crest of dense hair across your forehead, leading down the slope of your nose. His touch is firm but not uncomfortable, guiding your head this way and that way as he wipes your face clean.

“You don’t have to do this, Doct–“ he cuts you off with a slightly firm squeeze to the jaw. The action makes the fur-like hair on your nape bristle, but it’s not in upset. No, that little squeeze sends a thrill right through you. “Shush now. I can’t send you back so dirty, can I? That would be simply unacceptable.” He practically purrs. A juvenilely shy smile tugs at your lips, sharp canines sticking out ever so slightly. “Yes, sir.” You reply coyly. Victor rolls his eyes and gets back to his menial task.

For anyone else this predicament would be more than awkward. Victor is massive. He towers over anyone in any room with ease. You’re strong, but his height and his nemesis-y mutation would make it all too easy to overpower you. Having his hand around your jaw like this should strike fear somewhere within you, but it does everything but that. You actually revel in his attention. Victor has long since put together that it’s one of the things that keeps your loyalty in his favor.

“You were perfect.” He says as the towel glides across your thick eyebrows. Of course Victor watched every second over the security cameras he had placed across the Wrenwood Hotel. “Thank you, Victor.” You say in turn, closing your eyes as he drags the towel over your eyelids. Victor looks down at you, grip moving to cradle the back of your head. The towel drags down your neck.

He would never tell you that you were the picture of beauty right now but the way his fingers caress your face speak well enough. When you look over his face, you do so just in time to see his forked tongue dart out, no doubt smelling you. He exhales deeply and commits your scent to his mind; petrichor, musk, and the delightful metallic scent of blood. The combination makes his stomach twist in a most pleasurable way. He only wishes he had more time with you before The Connections came to get you.

Once he got most of the blood off of your face, he hung the towel haphazardly on the back of a chair. His large hands rest beneath your coat and on your shoulders. His hands, calloused and scaled, are cold and you are soft and addictively warm. You focus on the weight of his touch, the feel of his cold rings pressing over the fabric of your t-shirt, the way his fingers drag against the thick hair on the nape of your neck. “You did very good today.” You look up to meet his snake-eyed gaze and finally let yourself smile. Victor commits this picture to memory; you in all your blood soaked glory, your wild hair slick from blood and rain, smiling unabashedly with all those pearly, sharp teeth.

He spots another spot of crimson at your jaw and without hesitation, he dips down and licks it away with his forked tongue like it’s nothing. A tingle crawls up your spine. You chuckle and move your hands to the nape of his neck while he’s closer to your height. “Am I clean now?” The doctor presses his head into your nape, hair tickling his nose as he breathes in your scent. You can feel his lips curve against your skin, morphing into a grin that matches yours. Grotesquely golden, yet one of your favorite sights. “You’re perfect.”
