After eight years in the shadows, ICARIS returns for one last flight. A farewell album. A worldwide tour. A legacy finally given its proper send-off.
Their story is told in an eight-part docuseries, Sunbound: ICARISâ Final Flightâmixing present-day footage with archival clips, livestreams, concert films, and video logs. Raw, intimate, and at times uncomfortable, itâs a look into the group that once soared together, burned to ashes together, and now rises together one last time.
Customize your Sparky. Design the groupâs âfaceâ: choose appearance, gender, sexuality, and even performance style. Will you be a playful and adorable puppy-like person or a mysterious and surly cat-like person? Were you close with your fans or were you standoffish? Were you clean or did you basically live in the tabloids?
Shape your journey. Experience the rise of ICARIS, the events that shaped their history â some moments are inevitable; there is no saving whatâs already lost. In the present timeline, however, you can navigate regrets and grief, reconnect with old friends, and influence how the reunion unfolds.
Romance across timelines. Pursue any of the five romantic options. Rekindle old flames or explore new connections.
Content warnings: realities of the industry, abusive workplaces and schedules, substance abuse, mentions/allusions to suicidal thoughts, mental illnesses, disordered eating. Possibly more.
Sparky
You were the spark that lit ICARIS, the groupâs most recognizable face â loved, hated, and dissected in equal measures. Years after ICARIS, youâre back on stage with your former members and surrounded by people from a past that seems so far now. Will this reunion bring closure, or will it reopen wounds that never fully healed?
Shin Jiwon â romantic option. Always the same gender as idol-era Sparky.
The leader. Cold, repressed, distant â Jiwon wielded their responsibility like a sword and their scripture like a shield. Words theyâd never dared speak are scattered across ICARISâ discography. Until now, they are determined to keep the ICARIS legacy alive. Burdened by regret and emotions they refuse to face, Jiwon keeps their heart locked behind walls of practiced silence and professionalism. You may have once breached past those walls, but breaking through them again will be far more challenging.
Saint Gatti â romantic option. Always the same gender as idol-era Sparky.
Talented on all fronts â a magnetic performer, an exceptional producer, and a delightful conversationalist. Sharp-witted, opinionated, and quick with a joke, Saint was one of the quiet pillars of ICARIS: the oldest member, the producer, the person everyone instinctively sought out during long, exhausting nights. They once knew you like the back of their hand, now even simple conversations are difficult. Can something that was once familiar be rebuilt?
Charismatic, cunning, and impossible to ignore â Kila is the face of your rival group, ECLYPS. Their name has always been placed beside yours: to compare, to criticize, to fuel rumors. Born into a long line of acclaimed creatives in the Philippines, they pursued fame relentlessly and eventually surpassed ICARIS in popularity after the groupâs disbandment, even their solo career thriving. Now, theyâve drifted back into your orbit as once of the documentaryâs interviewees. You no longer understand their motives â maybe never did. But beneath the sharp smile and playful cruelty, does the tenderness you once glimpsed at still remain?
Character Introduction.
Ethereal, serene, and incredibly unattainable â Valentine starred opposite you as your onscreen partner throughout ICARISâ second trilogy of music videos. Paparazzi shots, matching items of clothing, and bashful denials have made for one of the most popular love affairs in the entertainment industry â too bad it was all fabricated. Behind their carefully constructed image lies a desperation for something incredibly ordinary. With their career newly revitalized and a beloved, highly public relationship now in the spotlight, would they still be willing to risk everything for what might have been?
Character Introduction.
Quiet, distant, and carefully avoidant â Tatum was your childhood friend, the person you first dreamed big with. You were supposed to stand on stage together, side by side, taking on the world as a pair, believing in a future built on the certainty that absolutely nothing would come between the two of you. Unfortunately, a few months into training, they were cut from the lineup and sent back home. Communication had slowed over time, but every trip back home reignited your relationship. Or so you thought. Today, they want nothing to do with you⌠except in a twist of fate (and partly their doing), their ten year old niece is now a die-hard fan of ICARIS. They really should have thrown all those albums away.
Character Introduction.
Devan Tiwari
The abrasive troublemaker, always kept on a metaphorical leash. Devan was infamous for speaking their mind without restraint, even when it came at the expense of the groupâs reputation. But beneath all the noise and chaos, there is a gentle side of them most refused to acknowledge: fiercely protective of the members, and deeply committed to the safety and happiness of each one. They have stepped away from the spotlight since disbandment, choosing to spend their time managing an establishment for homeless youth.
Character Introduction.
Angel Matisse
The visual of ICARIS â the pretty face, the one plastered all over covers of magazines. Angel was often dismissed for lacking skill, but youâve seen how fiercely driven they were to improve. Publicly, they appeared icy and unreadable, the very picture of elegance and class but privately, there was warmth, humor, and unbreakable loyalty to the group. Today, they are an award-winning actor, married to their childhood best friend, and raising two children. Time has softened their edges, replacing empty confidence with quiet self-assurance, but their words remain as sharp and direct as they were years ago.
Character Introduction.
Cloud Rattanakorn
Cloud is the kind of person people often described as âcomfortableâ â never too loud, never too sharp, never too popular. The public liked them for being the steady calm in the middle of ICARISâ chaos. Accompanying that calm was an unyielding will to keep the group together. Cloud was often the one to step in, to soften the jagged edges of their members before they cut each other. Away from the spotlight, they now spend their days running their familyâs restaurant, content to stay in the quiet presence of people they know would never abandon them.
Character Introduction.
Hoshino Mitsuki
The beacon of hope, the source of laughter, the sunbeam after curtain call. Mitsuki was an amalgamation of all of the older membersâ personalities â a perfect mixture of each oneâs best traits and their most human flaws. Mitsuki had a uniquely unbreakable bond with each of the members, and the fans, acting as a constant presence of warmth and reassurance â someone to lean on just as they had leaned on others. Among both the members and the fans, they has always been one clear agreement: Mitsuki is to be remembered as the warmth they all tried to protect. Nothing less.

Hoshino Mitsuki is always the member most difficult to writeâtalkâabout. They werenât hard to pin down like Sparky was, nor did they have multiple controversies like Devan did, but everything that unfolded about them was so terribly tragic to think about. There is too much and too little to be said about the ball of sunshine, source of hope, brighter-than-the-sun that was Hoshino Mitsuki, and even their members refuse to speak about them at length. But for the sake of this feature article, and because we all believe that Mitsuki deserves to be remembered as the beautiful human being they were, I shall try.
Hoshino Mitsuki was the youngest of all the trainees under Elysium Entertainment, having entered the system at just 12 and a half years old. They got in through an audition held in Japan, and their now famous audition video is a controversial one even to this day. They barely had the skills, and it showed to an almost embarrassing degreeâforgot their lines and confidently sang the incorrect notes, stumbled all over their feet and messed up the blockingsâbut anyone watching would agree that the beaming smile they had on as they performed was hypnotizing. It was like they were having the time of their life despite all the mistakes they were making. âIt was impossible to ignore,â reasoned one of the people whoâd agreed to accept Mitsuki into the program, âthey simply belonged on stage.â When they were flown to California from Japan, Mitsuki barely knew any English aside from âthank you,â âsorry,â and âwhen is lunchtime?ââa little tidbit they liked to laugh about until their last days. They had to rely on Jiwon, who was fluent in both English and Japanese, to translate for them and to teach them English until they were confident enough to handle conversations on their ownâthis is quite obvious in the way theyâd taken all of Jiwonâs English-speaking quirks at first before their way of speaking became a blend of all the other membersâ quirks and accents. Aside from speaking.
Mitsuki was the perfect mix of all the other membersâthey had Jiwonâs strong sense of professionalism and Saintâs cheerleader-like qualities; they possessed Sparkyâs raw charisma and Devanâs risky boldness; and they learned eloquence during interviews from Angel and tenderness and calmness during stressful times from Cloud. This is perhaps because they had to rely on the other members for ten whole yearsâtheir performative years at thatâand because it wouldnât be an exaggeration to say that the members, though not much older, essentially raised Mitsuki. They turned Mitsuki from someone who could barely carry a note and could only flap their arms to someone who could cover the more skilled membersâ lines when they were sick and someone who had plenty of center positions during dance breaks. Plenty of behind-the-scenes footage supports the idea that the members raised Mitsuki, as they were often shown to be doting on the youngestâreminding them to eat, spending hours in the arcade just to get the toy they wanted from a claw machine, and taking them on family trips on days off. But it wasnât a one-sided relationship; all the members have at least once voiced out that Mitsuki was a driving force for the group to keep continuing even when times were hard. Theyâd mentioned Mitsuki as their cheerleader during their dispute with the company, eagerly looking forward to standing on stage again with âhearts of rookiesâ even though things seemed dire for the other members.
Mitsuki was also a big fan of âcapturing the moment.â They were often seen with video and film cameras, trailing after the other members to make sure their memories were stored forever. They were the brain behind most of the groupâs extra contentâvlogs, variety content, and even the trilogy documentaries that first came from a scrapped documentary featuring their pre-debut days. Half the reason why people fell for ICARIS was their authenticity, their personalities, and their vastly different relationship dynamicsâwe wouldnât have seen so much of these without Mitsukiâs genius. Part of this is also because Mitsuki truly treasured fan interactions, posting almost daily and replying endlessly to fans whenever they had time. When the pandemic hit and we were all forced to stay indoors, Mitsuki went live almost every single day just to keep fans company, chatting and singing with Solaces as though they were talking with friends and not strangers. Mitsuki, at this time, was the Solacesâ solace. The one constant source of happiness when the world had turned so dreary.
Perhaps this is why their death hurt so much. It wouldâve hurt even if they werenât as big with interactions as they were, but Mitsuki being such a big source of joy and strength during those trying times, being so present, made their sudden absence so jarring. Their death shook the entire worldâIâd say itâs almost impossible for people to not know about the incident. Weâd seen the blurry videos of the members in different states of distress waiting for news from the firefighters, taken from a helicopter view of Mitsukiâs mansion. We all read the speculation, the rumors, the insults hurled at each member before Jiwon, on their personal account, had gone online and left a long and firm message about respecting the grieving members and the deceased by stopping all the absurd speculations. We saw how the group slowly drifted apartâupdates together quickly going down in numbersâand we all know that the disbandment announcement just two months later was inevitable.
A house fire, something so easily avoidable cutting someoneâs precious life short. No foul play, no self-harm, just a cigarette butt not snuffed out completely and sleeping pills to combat Mitsukiâs lifelong problems with insomnia. Mitsuki, who had spent half their life in the pressure cooker they call the idol industry, gone so quickly. It was unfair; it was difficult to accept. Until now, with the announcement of a full groupâas full as they can be, at leastâalbum drop and a tour, Mitsukiâs ghost haunts everything. Theyâre the most mentioned nameâthe highest trending name when the news first came outâand some people are understandably upset and uneasy about the reunion. ICARIS had never been anything but seven. Even with sick members or those who had to be absent for a while due to other responsibilities, the rest of the members never failed to talk about them until it felt like their absence wasnât too big. With Mitsuki truly gone, itâs difficult to imagine how this album drop and tour will go in regards to Mitsukiâs absence.
Itâd be terribly selfish to ask for much. The members have countless times shown how uncomfortable they are with talking about Mitsuki even though their default stance is to âremember them as the source of hope they were, not something tragic.â Still, fans are hoping for a crumb, a little story, some little moments about Mitsuki throughout the album rollout and drop, the tour, and the documentary that promises a deeper insight into this massive group. Something to satisfy the yearning for Mitsukiâs bright, beaming smile with half-moon eyes. It wonât be enough, it will never be enough, but hopefully it will make the ache a little more bearable. One last little source of hope before we all part ways once more.

7-7 is an important date for icaris. itâs their debut date and obviously the repeated 7. itâs also why their last encore stage will be on 7-7-27. so if you know me, iâm a huge, huge fan of details like this so iâm trying my best to get something out by 7-7. currently, it looks like a full chapter 1 on 7-7 might be impossible (was aiming for this first months back, but the heat and the few times i got sick really made things go slower) so iâll most likely post the prologue on 7-7 even though i didnât want to post just a prologue. itâs so the anniversary of the book can also be on 7-7.
prologue at the moment is a feature article with a few interviews of the group, so it isnât just a very quick prologue. i have this mostly done but i havenât touched this âmostly doneâ draft since like weeks ago so once i get to revising that it might take on a pretty different look, especially with the character introductions already done. itâs always unpredictable how fast or how slow writing can be, but iâm sure i can finish it before 7-7 and post it then.
i might post a bit more here and there while writing, and as always the ask box is open, but yeah just a little update on my plans. the 7-7 is just much too meaningful for me to really let go of it lol. thanks for the support on the character introductions so far! theyâre been a great driving force in writing more despite the weather, sicknesses, and some writing blocks.
oh, and speaking of 7sâmitsukiâs character introduction will be posted later (june 7th, didnât plan for that it just happened lol) and itâs by far the longest one. another reminder that these character introductions are sort of like features written by a fan, and i think it shows most with mitsukiâs because it gets a bit more emotional than professional compared to the rest. if it were any other member, i wouldâve cut it down and made it more professional but i was writing this in the pov of a fan whoâd stopped writing about mitsuki because it was such a tender, bruising topic that once they allowed themself to write about them again, it all just poured out. they still maintained some professionalismâit isnât that emotionalâbut it reads a little differently from the rest.
as a little treat, some of the songs i have in my mitsuki playlist:
i have one for all the characters like usual and i might post them in the future but at the moment theyâre full of random songs and not at all balanced so theyâre currently just for me.

Cloud Rattakorn was always supposed to set foot on the Olympic stage as a figure skater. At just 3 years old, they were spending most of their time in a skating rink near their hometown house, and by 5, they were getting professional training in figure skating. Cloud spent a vast majority of their childhood trainingâballroom dancing and contemporary dancing as part of their figure skating trainingâand these all paid off when they managed to snag silver and gold awards at the two Junior Grand Prix events theyâd joined and even won silver at the 2010 Junior Grand Prix Final. For the longest time, they were aiming for the Winter Olympics but Cloud shook the figure skating world when it was announced that they were retiring. No one knew what had happened until ICARIS blew up and a familiar face was among the group.
âI auditioned on a whim; Iâd always been a fan of KPOP and JPOP,â Cloud explained when people asked about their promising figure skating career, âand when they called me back, I canât explain it, but my heart was begging for me to join the training.â Their parents had been very supportive of this sudden career shift, never missing a single major performance of the group and treating the rest of the members like their own children. âWhen they wanted to be a figure skater when they were five, we wholeheartedly allowed it. When they changed their mind, we had no complaints. We only want them to follow their dreams,â Cloudâs mother said during an interview with her for Sunborn, the groupâs first documentary. Itâs easy to see why Cloud is the way they are, with a family so supportive and ready to accept them no matter which path they took. This is perhaps also why the members often say Cloud is the most understanding member, the one whoâd listen to everyone and tell each one to âfollow your heartâ when facing a difficult decision. But make no mistake, the members also say that Cloud is often the one to keep everyone in check when tensions rise. âToo many big personalities in one group,â Devan had once joked, âbut Cloud is always there to bring us all back to Earth.â
Cloudâs background in ballroom dancing and contemporary dancing made them the main dancer of the group, and the main choreographer. Though they admitted to struggling with shifting dance styles at first, Cloud had meticulously sought out training for other dance styles just so they could incorporate them into the groupâs choreographyâwhich is why we can see a shift from more contemporary dancing in their first trilogy to more hiphop and modern styles in their second trilogy. Cloud, along with Devan, also trained the members who were lacking in dancing early on, the discipline and resilience that they learned through years of training for figure skating bleeding into their years as a member of ICARIS. Though they were always said to be the gentlest of them behind the scenesâMitsuki had even once said they liked just lying in silence with Cloud whenever they were feeling down, allowing the day to pass by in silenceâCloud was famously relentless and unforgiveable when it came to dancing. They were strict with the members, with keen eyes catching even the slightest of mistakes, and their disappointment was something even the leader, Jiwon, tried to avoid at all costs.
These days, Cloud Rattakorn helps run the familyâs Thai restaurant business, Cloud 9, overseeing several locations across multiple countries, both figure skating and idol life now shelved for something more normal, more mundane. Cloud is currently the most difficult member to see publicly, but fans who visit the main branch of their restaurant say that Cloud never rejects a polite ask for a picture. For years, Cloud had been living as a civilian with a colorful life behind them and the public had always thought they had no plans to go back to the limelight, which is why the recent announcement of a full member comeback for ICARIS shook the world. Fans and nonfans are understandably excited to see Cloud Rattakorn as an idol again, their elegant dance lines and soft, haunting voice like art on stage, but with Sunbound promising to explore topics the group had long avoided, many are equally eager to discover a side of Cloud that existed beyond the gentle, agreeable image we all came to know and love.

Angel Matisse is an angel in every sense of the word: ethereal, aloof, terrifying. They entered the showbiz industry at barely five years old; some might remember their incredible performances in some well-known childrenâs movies and some bigger blockbusters. Their mother stood as their manager for their acting career, accompanying them to shoots and making connections for them until they were scouted by an Elysium Entertainment worker just three months before the final lineup of ICARIS was decided.
Angel has the shortest training period out of the entire group, which was quite evident when they first debutedâthey visibly lacked in singing and dancing for the first two years of their career as an idol. However, one thing about ICARIS is that the members always strive to be better. Angel showed extraordinary growth in both singing and dancing in their years as an ICARIS member, so much so that the gap between them and the more skilled members lessened considerably and they were seen as not just the visual of the group, but something more integral to the dance formations and songs. As the visual of the group, however, they were the first face people often noticedâfull lips, long lashes, tall cheekbones. Angel was, well, an angel on Earth. It is also possibly this beauty of theirs that has people so intimidated by them, along with their default blank expression and dry humor. The members often raved about how cute and goofy Angel was behind the scenes, and fans did get to have a little peek into this Angel through their variety content and documentaries. Another fact that most people might not know about Angel Matisse is that they were behind most of the groupâs creative direction. With prior conversations and agreements with the members made beforehand, they worked closely with the professional creative team to give the group a more personalized and authentic image. They also co-directed and did the storyboard for all of the groupâs music videos, using their prior background in filmmaking to help them. Though most people would simply call them the visual of the group, Angel held a special and irreplaceable spot in the group.
After the groupâs untimely disbandment, Angel left the limelight for two years before showing up again as an actor. Since then, they had a long and tumultuous journey to the topâtheir public dispute with their mother over marrying their same-sex childhood friend was the internetâs favorite story for quite some timeâbut they ultimately came out victorious with a few awards now under their belt. With now two children, Angel is gradually shifting to directing instead of acting.
They are the one member people thought would never go back to the idol life, which is perhaps why people are so eager to see them again. Angel has always seemed so distant from the rest of the membersâwith the exception of Devan, their same-aged friend that they often called their soulmateâso it will be interesting to see how the distance may have changed them over the years. People are also looking forward to learning their reasons for joining the reunion after being so vocally against reuniting due to the nature of their disbandment. Nevertheless, true Solaces are most looking forward to seeing Angel Matisse don their idol persona once more, shifting from the quiet and elegant actor-director (and parent) they are now back to the performing beast they once were on stage.
They also co-directed and did the storyboard for all of the groupâs music videos, using their prior background in filmmaking to help them. the sickness (i suspect it might've been the flu) from earlier this week has turned my brain back to mush so i'm not so confident in the angel character introduction i'm posting later đ but it's good enough that i'm not going to exhaust myself more by revising and revising the rest of the day. hopefully tomorrow and the day after are much better in terms of writing brain because those will be a little more difficult to write compared to angel's for different reasons.
for everyone going through the drastic weather changes too, i hope you're all doing well and not falling sick!

In these intros you highlight everyoneâs special talent in the group/in general but all I really got from Sparkys intro is that theyâre the figurehead and charismatic, nothing actually specific like âthey had the best voiceâ, âthey could play the guitar better than anyoneâ or anything like that unless we get to choose what Sparky excelled at in the group ?
I know Sparky isnât a shallow character but thatâs kind of the vibe I get off of their intro surrounded/compared to everyone elseâs.
sparkyâs intro is vague because i want readers to fill in the blanks for their own sparkys. but also, sparky is not the best in either singing or dancing in the group, and not the best producer, composer, choreographer, etc. sparky is designed to be good (above average), but not the absolute best. theyâre behind saint in terms of being an all-rounder (who is actually behind devan there but devan is heavily underestimated/underappreciated due to their controversies). sparkyâs entire thing is that theyâre not the best, yet their charisma is what brings icaris to the mainstream. so if thereâs something sparky excels at, much better than anyone else in the group, itâs star power. they draw people in.
i wonât get into too much detail, but this actually brings up some tension points in the groupâs relationships with each other and the solo-fansâ/antisâ most common phrases when hating on sparky. saint (and to a lesser degree devan) feel like theyâre in the shadow of sparky, who is not as skilled as them but much, much more popular. angel, whose position in the group (visual) is designed to bring people in, feels like theyâre inadequate at their job. the higher ups severely underestimate sparky during their first yearsâless lines, no center positions in dance formationsâbut their virality gives them newfound attention from the people in charge and it strays too close to favoritism territory (there is favoritism, but the members being in charge of most of their content made it so it wasnât so obvious). antis and solo fans dislike sparky for being the most popular too, they think they donât deserve it and the more skilled members should be more popular.
Anyone who knew Devan Tiwari from a young age would know that Devan had always had a streak of rebelliousness in them. Rarely malicious, sometimes out of place, but Devan Tiwari knew their path in life since they were a child and stubbornly intended to follow it through to adulthood. So when their parents gave them a choice to makeâa stable family home or to pursue an unpredictable singing careerâDevan packed up and left at just 15 years old. For months, Devan took on odd jobs and lived in friendsâ houses, moving whenever they felt theyâd overstayed their welcome. It wasnât until a few friends mentioned going to LA and asking Devan to go with them that Devan found their ticket into the industry.
âIt wasnât immediately easy,â Devan had said during the groupâs first documentary, Sunborn, âbut I had support.â Support for Devan had been in the form of older friends whoâd bring them around everywhere, and an elderly lady who had lived alone and paid Devan to do her daily chores. When Devan auditioned for and got into the groupââI was promised trainee allowance,â Devan explained with a laugh, âand I was hoping for a solo career, not one in a groupââtheyâd moved out of this kind ladyâs basement but didnât fully cut off ties with her. She had spent the next few years supporting ICARISâ career, being one of the twenty first audience members, and Devan paid everything back by supporting her financially. This elderly ladyâunnamed to this day but abuela to Devan and the other membersâwas one of ICARISâ biggest fans until her last days.
Devan is a vital and irreplaceable part of ICARISâthe main vocal who was also among the top dancers and Cloud Rattanakornâs assistant choreographer. They had a strong, emotional voice that carried most of the groupâs most demanding melodies and adlibs, and their background in street dancing had helped them guide the other membersâ dancing. Perhaps this is why the company never let them go, despite many petitions to remove them for âruining the groupâs image.â Devan is one ofâif not theâmost controversial members of the group, known for late-night lives where theyâd fight back against the haters who wouldnât leave the group alone. They were always on the cover of tabloids, drowning in rumors of dating, drug-related activities, and sometimes physical fights.
But most of all, Devan is known for being the catalyst to ICARISâ breaking away from their abusive company. They had gone on live at 3 AM one day, sporting a black eye and a split lip, and announced to the world that the members were being mistreated, abused, and exploited. The rest of the story of ICARIS VS Elysium Entertainment was a mixture of uncomfortably public moments and steady private conversationsâa story where they ended up winning and taking control of the company. Devan is, and will always be, known for being the one brave enough to save the rest of the group, and perhaps this is why the public could never fully truly hate them anymore.
Today, Devan offers comfort and support to youth who are going through what they once went through. Theyâd founded a home for homeless youth that offers education and training on creative skills. A few trainees of Aurora Entertainment famously came from this establishment. With the coming release of Sunbound, weâre looking forward to getting to know the softer, more mature Devan Tiwari of today and to possibly to get more insight on the volatile but protective Devan Tiwari of the ICARIS days.

Saint Gatti has always been promising. They were born into a large family thatâd taught them plenty of valuable skills growing upâcooking, singing, dancing, even engineering. Saint loved bringing up how it was their grandfather who first taught them how to create tunes out of humming, and it was their grandmother who had taught them how to dance. Before ICARIS, before Elysium Entertainment, before flying to the US, Saint Gattiâs first audienceâfirst fans and first criticsâhave always been their family.
Saint didnât always want to be an idol. They first moved to the US to study aerospace engineering, having been granted a full scholarship to one of the best engineering schools in the world. âI liked flying and fixing things,â theyâd said when asked about the unusual major. âMy dad bought me all these little toy planes when I was younger and I was obsessed with learning how they worked.â Saint had seen flyers promoting the auditions for Elysium Entertainment on campus one day and was goaded by friends to try out. They werenât expecting to be acceptedâmuch less pursued by the companyâand, intrigued by the training system and the promise to learn more about producing, Saint joined the system despite knowing how much of a strain itâd put on their already grueling schedule. Saint is anything but a quitterâstubborn to the bone, always seeing things throughâand they proved that by painstakingly doing everything âby the bookâ to still earn their degree despite being a full-time idol, even if they graduated a few years later than their peers.
As for being a member of the group, Saint is the bones that built the flawless discography that is ICARISââthey are the main producer for about 90% of their songs and secondary producer for the rest. As the oldest, Saint was one of the two pillars of the groupâfunny, always able to use their wits and, on rare times, slapstick comedy to make their members and the audience laugh. Introspective and deep, the one person the younger members go to for comfort, the one to go on late-night live streams to assure worried fans. Saint was not only a blazing ball of talent and magnetism on stageâthe ace, the all-rounderâthey were also a warm orb of sun off it. âWe survived a lot thanks to them,â Devan had once said. âThey really helped us not break apart.â
These days, Saint Gatti is thriving as a solo artist with three successful albums under their name. They are selling out stadiums, getting Billboard HOT 100 hits, and being nominated for the Grammys. By all means, they are in a position to reject the reunion so they can focus more on building up on their solo brand, but verified sources claim Saint was the first to say yes. When asked about their decision to join the reunion, Saint said, âThe group always comes first,â and then left it at that. Though Saint had kept quiet about the group after disbandment like the other members, it was always quite clear to the public that they still very much adored and missed the groupâespecially with songs in their albums that are heavily speculated to be about their members. Hopefully, with the release of Sunbound and their next albumâproduced by Saint, of courseâweâll get to see deeper into the mind behind the irresistible and unforgettable melodies weâd all grown up hearing.
