Rin clasped the die in two hands, shaking it wildly before tossing it across the table. It rolled far before finally stopping on five. Rin wasted no time picking up the labeled chocolate, taking a sharp bite of it as though he was filled with confidence.

He chewed and tried to hide any sign on flinching in his face. He wouldn’t admit it, but he did feel nervous about chewing into something terrible. Sweets weren’t really Rin’s favorite either so regardless this taste wasn’t something Rin would consider good, but as he finished the chocolate he realized he didn’t have the chili pepper either.

[ 🎨 ] — Violet hues skims through the crowd in anticipation, though when it became apparent whom his speaking adversary was, an eyebrow was raised in question as Rin pushes through the crowd of student just to meet him.

He wasn’t so much nervous by being suddenly called on as he was confused. Though having the situation quickly explained helped, and Rin was able to relax as he followed the other male. “Really?” He asked. “I’ll check it out, but I know I finished them.” Rin was responsible by nature and always double-checked the things he did. He was certain he couldn’t make a mistake like that. “Is it somethin’ we can fix?”

        The walk was a comfortable one as Rin told him stories of things that had happened around the area, but even as they fell silent, it didn’t feel odd. In fact, it only proved why they got along so well in the first place. It was a different kind of friendship than he had with Haruka, hard to compare because the two of them were completeopposites, but he still valued them both. Makoto briefly wondered ifthey’d be this close if it weren’t for the fake dating, but it was athought he quickly shook off again. Of course they’d be, eventually,it might have simply taken them some more time to realize how wellthey got along in order to hang out more often again. With a plan inhead, it had just happened faster.

        Once they had arrived at the café and taken a seat, Makoto could see why it was popular. The waitress was exceptionally nice, the place seemed clean and the food he’d eyed on other people’s tables looked delicious. Even if it had felt odd not to go home with the rest of his team, he was more than happy to have stayed. Food and drinks were ordered and luckily didn’t take long to arrive; Makoto was usually starving after practise.

Makoto seemed to like the café and Rin was glad about that. Even after they finished their meal the pair lingered, Rin in no hurry to leave the restaurant, and relieved when he saw that Makoto felt the same. But suddenly in mid-conversation, Makoto’s fingers wrapped around Rin’s. It surprised the redhead, not pulling away but still feeling heat rise in his face from the seemingly out of no where action.

It was a quick realization that Makoto was doing it because he saw Samezuka High students nearby, and with a glance over Rin knew he recognized at least one of them. They weren’t on his swim team but they were a classmate, and Rin knew Makoto was making the right call. Still, even knowing that didn’t make Rin relax and he couldn’t even place why. He was just thankful for the dim lighting in the café, and he hoped that meant Makoto wouldn’t notice anything.

Even so, Rin responded by gently holding Makoto’s hand back. He liked the way he was being touched, and somehow it managed to speed Rin’s heart rate up just a little. He gave Makoto’s hand a little squeeze, before leaning over the table a little to bring his face closer to the taller’s.
