My brother and I at my last feis
Hard to believe this was a year ago already! Time flies.
Is your white dress for sale?
Sorry but I'm not actually sure! Emerald Key used it as a display dress and I'm not sure if they still have it or if it has been sold.
Hey Kinsey! So lately my teacher has been telling me that my beats are muffled in hardshoe/weak and I need to define my steps and get off the ground. I know I need to hop higher and break down my steps, what else can I do to define my hardshoe better? Thanks, you are amazing. I enjoyed watching you dance at feises.
Thank you so much! Breaking down trouble spots and drilling them over and over again is key - but make sure you are doing it with the proper technique. If it isn't a "bang" or a "heel" make sure you are up as high as possible on your toes, make sure you are rallying with your foot turned out and putting your weight into the ball of your foot and big toe - you'll get the most sound that way. When you hop off of the ground, hop as high as you can and then make sure you make an actual sound (without letting heels drop!!) on the landing. For example, "rally hop back" has four sounds. You have to exaggerate every single one. Push out on the "ral", pull in on the "ly", make sound on the "hop", and finish it nice and crossed on the "back". Some people ignore the hop or separating the rally into two parts and that is where it gets muffled. Hope this helps! 😊
Fake it, fake your confidence until it’s real. I think it’s a good way to live most of your life.

#tbt to a great weekend in Phoenix! Thanks for all your support and teaching this year! (at Arizona Grand Resort)
Your bun wig was always SO perfect! How did you do it?
Thanks! :) I curled some of my hair and pinned it around the bun to try to make it as natural looking as possible. I also made sure it was on top of my head so it had enough height to it.

What did it feel like to win the oireachtas like that? How did u keep a positive mind set during your training?
Oops, sorry, just now seeing this question! It felt absolutely amazing. I knew deep down that if I danced my absolute best I had a small chance of winning so I just kept that in mind while practicing. Plus, I also had a fire lit under me from being disappointed at my NANs result that year (I was 14th after being on the podium for two years in a row). When I got tired I would tell myself that if I kept pushing it could make the difference between 2nd and 1st place. And on the day of the competition I did my best to keep calm. I ate a big breakfast, stretched and warmed up a lot, and then ultimately just tried to enjoy myself on stage. Being announced the winner was the single greatest moment of my life. Truly a dream come true. :)
