“Anyone ever just…..not wanna anymore?” Phi had her head in her hands on the table and the girl looked rough. “I swear, we were all so excited to grow up and now look at us. Stressed, depressed and upset.” 

jack couldn’t help but chuckle as she blatantly flirted with him. “i’m old enough to be your dad, you know.” he finished his bite and laughed again. “i promise not to get you hurt.” he said, honestly. “jack. nice to meet you rosemary.” he held out his hand to shake hers. 

reaching down he grabbed a crab rangoon with a sly grin. “that usually doesn’t work.” he said before taking a bite. when she asked if he was hoping she was cold he shook his head. “no i’m not. but i am sure i could keep you warm if you needed. but luckily you have that sweatshirt.” he teased. “i feel like i should be surprised by that, but you seem like the dangerous type.”

“i could take you on a ride on my bike.” he gestured back towards a black and chrome motorcycle. he looked down as she moved her blanket. “well as long as you are warm. what are you doing out here all by yourself? isnt that a little dangerous?’

Jack was taking an evening stroll, not minding the weather. He tried to spend a good amount of time outdoors. Walking down to the beach he saw someone bundled up. “You should know better than to even mention crab rangoon to other people. Because now all I want is that.” He said, peering over her shoulder at what ever it was she was eating. “Little chilly to be out here without a jacket.”

“Look, it’s the only thing keeping me sane right now. So you better have something real good to give me for the crab rangoon,” she said, looking up at him with a grin. She raised an arm, showing the oversized sweatshirt she had on under the blanket. “I’m good, don’t you worry, handsome.”

“you know.. where i’m from, most of the time the men do the cooking, so i’d feel weird not at least doing some of the work. why don’t you come to my place? i can make us something to eat, and i can show you my garden.” he said with a proud little smile. 

“you seem like a really sweet girl, and obviously you are very beautiful… im just sort of out of the whole dating thing you know?” he said softly but with a kind smile. he felt really bad for saying no, but he wasn’t sure what else to do. he had no business being with someone so young.

“thank you.” she laughed a little when the girl said she was smooth. “no. usually i don’t have to because most people ask for my number by this point in the conversation. but.. then again.. girls are different about it than guys.”

“i’m sure they did.” malu just assumed all porn stars got paid well. he chuckled when she said she hadn’t seen any like him. “well that’s probably a good thing.” malu casually brushed his hair back. “a date?” he inhaled and exhaled slowly. “look rosie.. you’re only twenty-six… i’m in my forties.. i don’t know if a date is really the best idea.. surely you would want someone closer to your age?”

“Kenia Brathwaite.” She said as she extended her arm to shake the girl’s hand. “here.” Kenia leaned forward, sliding the phone right from rosie’s hand. lifting it up she snapped at Rosie to get her attention and make the face id work. Once it did, she swiftly put her number in. “In case mister perfect decides not to call… you’ve got my number.”

“pretty sure most of them are pornstars. which, for the record, i feel like i should clarify that i’m not and if you’ve ever seen anyone that looks like me… it’s not me.” he said casually having heard that he looked like a specific porn star a few times. “yeah, swing by and i will see where we can put you.’ he said before raising his brows. “yeah sure. im always up for dinners with new friends. why not?”

“im not even usually into blondes, but you are up there.” she said with a friendly smile. “well he’d be dumb not to be interested. go for it. what’s the worst that can happen?” she said crossing one leg over the other. “and when he says yes, let me know. now im invested.”

“i don’t know what those people were modeling then, because there’s really one specific area where guys like me are asked to model.” he teased as he pushed his hands into his pockets. “that seems like a weird risk to accept.” he nodded and gestured to the street. “well my studio is off of ashmore drive. pop in sometime and i can get you scheduled for a self-defense class. we don’t have a ton, but i am sure i can find someone for you.”

“i know the peanut butter cup is the most popular, but my personal favorite is the oatmeal chocolate chip. finally someone got it right and replaced raisins with chocolate.” he said with a smile. “how about i buy both and we have a little taste test. which one is truly the best cookie here?” dawson chuckled, knowing damn well he hadn’t had tyson chicken nuggets since grade school.
