[The rest of it's eyes open up slowly.]

I fear so.. that's why we're out here, we've been looking for them for about a day..

[A pile of feathers, encased in a slimy, bloody fluid. It looks old, but…]

[Further away, there’s another. And another.]

F-Fuck.. come on let's follow it and fast. I don't want that thing hurting Los for another second.

[Rose runs up to catch up to him, nearly tripping as the ground gets more and more muddy.]

[As the trio runs, the ground becomes harder to harder to walk in, their shoes- or feet if you’re a 6 foot lizard named Ave- were covered in mud, mud that gradually became mixed with algae and water grasses.]

[But the muddier it got… The louder the tiding became.]

[How many does it usually average at? Around 40? Well… This is certainly much, much more than that.]

[This is at least 150 of the birds, all crying out at feathers fly through the air. They seem to be attacking something, based on their ball-like formation…]

[Suddenly, a sharp scream pierces out, and larger wings burst out from the tiding, flapping desperately.]

[They scream again, finally managing to clear the magpies away from themselves for just a moment.]

[They're covered in wounds- Lacerations, punctures, bruises, torn feathers... But it's hard to focus on that when a laugh rings out from their own mouth.]

Don't fight it, Los! Becoming one with me!

NO! Shut up, shut up! I’m... I'm not your-RAAAAAGH-! Your pawn!

[Los was far too high up to reach, but it’s clear to see that their wounds are causing their flight to stagger.]

[Los screams again as the magpies tear into their arms, their flight faltering as the corvids virtually form a barrier around them. But it was less of a protective call and more like an iron maiden, tearing into their flesh as their control over themself stuttered.]

DIE, YOU MAGGOT! You ate the feather! You accepted my gift! It’s been years, this body should be MINE!

[Los screams, before sobbing.]

Let me go! Not a chance, darling! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! SHUT YOUR MOUTH!

[Los screams again, feathers falling from their mouth and eyes.]

[Suddenly, a pair of magpie swoops in, and Los lets out a blood curdling scream as the corvids fly away with Los’ eyes in their beaks.]

I never would’ve taken that fucking feather if I knew this would happen!

[They sob, staggering as feathers and birds surround them.]

[A scream rings out yet again.]

[With one last drawn out, horrifying scream, the magpies… stop.]

[They stop completely, darting away from the wounded body that hovered weakly amongst them. Los is silent, no signs of Magpiehearted or themself coming from their lips. Their body droops and their flight staggers.]

[Rose stumbles in the mud, immediately pulling out her phone.]

[It’s gentle, but there’s a heartbeat. There’s also slow, shallow breathing.]

[Los is gravely injured, yes… Blood is dripping from their eyes, mouth, nose, the lacerations on their body…]
