I hope to pay homage to the many seminal jeanmarco fics of old, as well as the 5-ish remaining fans who actually ship them (lmao), with this college AU in which Jean and Marco wind up joining a fraternity together as sophomores. I have wanted to write a story about these two since I was 14, always telling myself I would do it in college when I had seen more of the world and improved upon my writing skills, but despite seeing a great deal more of the world I didn’t manage to sit down and accomplish this dream until my college days came to an end and I found myself reminiscing about my few, fun, pre-COVID college years. It was reading fanfics about this ship, after all, that made me less anxious and more excited about college, and maybe I can help someone else romanticize their academic experience. :)

A few aspects of the story are very loosely based upon my own experiences in Greek life, although I will be playing off of a few negative stereotypes as well because I don’t want to appear oblivious or negligent and I recognize that my nearly entirely positive experience was not reflective of the problems many others witness with these organizations. I also want to issue a TW in advance for recreational alcohol and drug use. Mostly, though, the boys are getting their own fictional frat with its very own culture, values, shenanigans, etc.
