I FINALLY MADE IT 😭😭😭✌️✌️🥀

I procrastinated way too hard on this… Remus was the reason, even though he’s my favourite design wise… 🥀🥀

But yay it’s done I’m free I’m free! I love the other sides I love making them look freaky! Yay!

I had a lot of fun putting my ideas into these guys, especially Janus, I just liked the idea of making his silly bowler hat look more fancy along with a little vail of sorts to cover his snake half 💪💪 I also touched up his outfit too, love the original but I just didn’t really like how the top under his cloak covered so much of him, looking like a sleeping bag /j (love him) so I gave him a snake belt and I also changed the cloak thingy as well I like how it came out, and I also gave him heels, just seems like he would wear them lets be real and I changed his staff to look more like a snake, I’m so original I swear 🗣️

Now her Virgil, he was also very fun, I didn’t change much because his design is great, I just gave him more accessories which are pricings, and a little chain, we love our emo. I also found it fun to make his shoes look like his hoodie! And he definitely doesn’t tie his shoes (only to look cool he’ll tie them later), I did make him have bad posture on purpose that mf has a shrimp back I bet.

Now Remus, my second favourite side, oh he was great to create yet the most annoying, I love his original design to death so I didn’t change much too, except putting my own little twists here and there, I also love how glittery and shiny his outfit is so I had to put that touch too it, ALONG WITH A CAPE 🗣️🗣️🗣️ I had too it looked so cool in those photos Thomas made (found them on Pinterest) and of course I made it look torn because Remus definitely doesn’t care and I love him for that ❤️❤️

the last time janus wore virgil’s skin, it was right before he was accepted. a few days at most. janus did it as a last-ditch effort, a way to show virgil that he treats him better than the “light sides” ever could.

janus appeared in a puffy hoodie and dark eyeshadow, and gave his best performance that he’s never stopped regretting.

he acted like virgil at his worst, mean and jaded, insulting the sides and thomas plainly, venom in every word. creating dangers out of thin air, ignoring any attempts to redirect, feeding insecurities that even virgil didn’t know about. janus knew it all, and wielded the knowledge like a finely tuned weapon. he knew how cruel virgil could be, it was time the others really saw it.

it went as expected. the sides distrusted virgil even more now, they hated him. hated what he could be if left unchecked. thomas took a mental health day.

janus sinks down to see virgil, beaming with pride. the impersonation was spot on. now virgil could see that janus is the only one who can handle virgil at his most tumultuous.

virgil is hyperventilating on the floor. how could janus see him in such a horrible way? and show it to the others?? he’d worked so hard to be listened to, and now what? back to square one?

they hated virgil. and they were right to. he was so awful that his best friend could put on a sickening production, masquerading as everything he hates about himself, and be believed.

it was a rough few days.

virgil’s never said it directly, but janus knows his stunt was one of the last straws for virgil’s decision to “duck out”.

And I find it quite surprising people say that when we’ve only had 2 canon episodes where he plays a major role and in this episodes nothing about HIM is ever really mentioned. Just what he does and what happens as an effect of it.

Remus shouldn’t be a depthless character nor do we know if he WILL be

I’m not trying to say Remus is going to be “Virgil 2.0”. I’m not claiming Remus is “secretly sad about how he’s treated and he cries himself to sleep”. I’m saying he’s most likely not just a “silly guy that has no flavouring to him”.

It’s been proven in sander sides that the sides are also people somewhat. They have their own feelings. If this wasn’t the case Virgil wouldn’t have ducked out over not being appreciated and being hated. And Logan wouldn’t be upset about his treatment either.

Remus says himself he is the “unloved brother”. Him being convinced he is an unloved person speaks levels in my opinion. I’m not saying he’s secretly sad about it I’m just saying it clearly tells us that he IS mistreated and DOES know it.

Remus DOES care about how other people react to him. Not in the way of “awww I wish people were nice to me!!” But in the way of “i want people to look at me.”

We can even see Remus gets upset in a serious way and a little alarmed when Thomas starts to IGNORE him and stops deeming him as a “problem”.

Remus does not care if he causes a negative or positive reaction as long as people are still paying attention to him.

To me, this does link to him haveing SOME emotional depth.

Yes, people DO naturally want attention but mentally stable and happy people do not purposely go out of their way to make others this uncomfortable and miserable in order to get it.

I feel as though he and Virgil and somewhat “one in the same”, but they represent the different kinds of reaction people can have to neglect and mistreatment.

Virgil represents the idea of people just “giving up” in a way, getting tired of being mistreated and being upset about it to the point of quitting (ducking out). Remus represents what happens when the person being mistreated stops CARING about how mean people are to them and starts to “double down” on how they behave. Not caring what they do as long as they have the recognition for it.

And honestly?? In my opinion?? If Thomas really DOES make Remus just a silly guy with zero backstory. That’s just bad writing.

We’ve already established that all the sides have their own feelings and emotions and such, and they have their own DEPTH. Which makes them interesting. There’s only 8 major characters in sanders sides. Having one of the literal SIDES being depthless is just a wastage of a character. We wouldn’t even need him.

Again, I’m not saying we should make him “Virgil 2.0”. I’m just saying they shouldn’t make him an absolute nothing burger. They shouldn’t make him just a “silly guy”.
