The Berchtwald University (BU)

Established and founded in 1932 by Abraham Berchtwald, Lake City’s leading economist, the university offers programs on business, economics, and public administration.

The university is globally known as one of the leading universities when it comes to economic researches. 

The University of Northern Pacific (UNP) -- Main Campus

The UNP offers Arts and Humanities programs, both graduate and post-graduate courses. It is one of the five major universities of Lake City. The other four are The Berchtwald University (business and public administration); The Arrington Medical University; Lake City University for Science and Technology; and the Alexandria International University. UNP’s main campus, which is located at the suburbs of Lake City, sits along the Alaka'i River, one of the three major rivers that courses through the city. The university is also known for the apple trees that grow in its campus. Students are known to snack on the fruits when it is in season.

The Pacific Terminal (T1) of the Eloise Broddock International Airport, formerly known as the Lake City International Airport, (IATA: LKC; ICAO: NHEB), serves Lake City, the capital of Hanalei, and the main international gateway of the country. It is named after Eloise Broddock, former Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, who pushed for the modernization of the airport. 

The Pacific Terminal was inaugurated in 1987. Due to the increasing number passengers and the need to modernize it, the terminal was closed In 2005 for renovation and retrofitting. The terminal was closed in time for the inauguration and commercial operation of the Patrick Leyton Terminal (T3). Renovation was completed in 2011.
