I always forget I have Tumblr. I started this piece back in April and it sat on the backburner until yesterday. Nate’s “daddy issues” are the crux of the story, so it is important to explore from time to time.

Finished Nate’s updated ref sheet! I pulled in a graphic design trend, so it’s a little different from the norm, but I like it. Im going to make all my other comic characters refs in this style too.

Root Notes is officially being uploaded on Webtoons! Root Notes is set in the 2000s and follows Nate Blakeley and friends as they compete in a Battle of the Bands competition, unaware of the journey of self-discovery they are all embarking on.
