like looking at this image, this is just a relatively beat up standard skateboard with a painted bottom. (And maybe the wheels Reki used in his race against Adam?) and it makes me wonder if part of the reason Reki ‘isn’t good’ (heavy on the air quotes, Reki’s an excellent skater he’s just surrounded by people who are fucking insane/do literally impossible things irl) is because he doesn’t try to play into his strengths and compensate for his weaknesses through his board. I mean, the one race were we are aware of Reki using any sort of customization to his board is when he races against Adam and he nearly wins that race! The only reason he didn’t is because he was crippled by a wheel coming loose as plot convenient to make it so Langa could end up racing against Adam.

It’s really interesting because it sort supports this idea Reki doesn’t think of himself that often because the moment he realized it would be easier for Langa to skate if he made him a snowboard like e, he did it an instant. But after years and years of skating himself, he’s never thought to do the same for himself.
