Sekigahara (2017)

Sekigahara (関ヶ原) recounts the Battle of Sekigahara, in 1600 that brought an end to the Warring States era in Japanese history, as well as the political struggles that led up to it. It is an adaptation of the 1966 novel Sekigahara by Ryōtarō Shiba.

The movie tells the story from the perspective of Ishida Mitsunari, from the last days of the Taiko to his own last days at Sekigahara, defeated by Tokugawa Ieyasu. James Clavell's Shogun (1975) is based and inspired by this event.
