~ Prom night: Cas is standing outside smoking, black suit, blue tie. Dean comes out for fresh air. "Smoking kills, ya know..."

~ Dean has a stressful day and asks to bum a cigarette but Cas refuses cause he knows it's a shit habit

~ Cas watching Dean's sports practices because it's better than going home and dean is hot when he's sweaty

~ Cas acting tough but actually being a softy

~ Cas likes having control and Dean's not used to that

Castiel Novak was a smart kid. He did well in school. He listened to his parents. He listened to his teachers. He listened to his brothers, all older than him. He joined the school musicals just because he loved listening to the music and behind a part of it. Hearing was definitely something he took for granted. He had started to hear a ringing in his ears in middle school and it slowly grew worse until he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with Sensorineural Hearing Loss. A disease that would slowly cause him to go permanently deaf. It progressed over a couple years and into high school, which made classwork hard. He had to relearn how to do everything. He was partly deaf now as a sophomore in high school. Everything sounded very quiet and muffled and he didn’t recognize what people would say. He was glad he was good at reading lips or else conversations would be extremely hard. He knew it was only a matter of time before he lost his hearing completely. He didn't give up on music though. Music was different. He was still able to feel the strong vibrations the instruments made and he enjoyed it. He worked on stage crew for the musicals and helped with set design. He liked to hang out beside the band room when they were practicing, back pressed to the wall. He was sat against the wall beside the band room one day, eating his lunch and trying to figure out what song they were playing at the moment.
