Psa about red eyed rats
Red eyed rats have very sensitive eyes that lack protection from light damage. Even a bright room in your house can cause retina damage. They should never be kept near windows and even more so never taken outdoors. They would prefer to be kept in a dim room, or at the very least a corner of a room that sees less light. Always give them a hide to get away from the light. Warm tone lights are generally safer. It's okay to turn on a light in the dim room to clean and take pictures, as long as it's not super bright.
