"As some of you know, and others will surely be stunned to learn, I attended seminary and worked as a Minister many, many years ago. And it was not some “libtard” seminary, either; it was Denver Conservative Baptist Seminary, which tended to be a little, you know, conservative. One of the first things they teach you in seminary before you get into Hermeneutics (the science of Biblical interpretation), is this: “A text without a context is merely a pretext.” In other words, pulling a verse out of that giant, complex, and frequently baffling book and plunking it down to make your point is very bad Biblical interpretation. The other big thing they stress is this: any PART of the Bible needs to be interpreted through the WHOLE of the Bible. That is why, even though in 2Kings 8:12 it says, “You will set fire to their fortified places, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little children to the ground, and rip open their pregnant women,” we tend to frown on such activities. Another thing: did you just accept what I told you it says in the Bible simply because I told you it says that in the Bible? That’s another thing they say you should never do.

So here’s my point: if you believe that the verse from Romans that the Attorney General quoted in defense of the child separation policy is correct, AND that it agrees with the ENTIRE Bible’s policy towards children, refugees, the oppressed, etc., then you have a very different Bible than the one I own and have studied for the greater portion of my adult life. But just in case you enjoy the practice of cherry-picking verses to substantiate your position, I leave you with a few I suggest you ponder. And by the way, these words are the words of Jesus; not Paul, and certainly not Jeff Sessions.
