What’s up from our LA office!!! We know you’re probably wondering what happens with us fun and crazy ladies at the Rock N’ Events office. Well, we are excited to share what happens behind the scenes to put together our amazing events and give you an inside experience ‘live’!

Good Morning!

Everyone is in the office by 9 or 10 am. As you walk in the door, you’ll be greeted by our big furry friend named Zeek. Zeek is such a sweetheart. He’s a Belgian Malinois, a big cuddler, and will at times nudge your hand for a pet.

We start out our days by checking our to-do lists, emails, and calendars. Our office vibe is open, chill, and comfortable! But that doesn’t mean we don’t get things done. We’re always hustling, usually we never spend too much time on one task. Everyone in our office works on multiple projects -- we don’t just plan weddings, we work on corporate events, partnerships, blogs (like this one!), editorial shoots… but we all love being busy and getting things done.

Our office space has desks, a big work table, and a couch. Everyone’s always trying to snag a deskspace to work on, but we’re generally comfortable wherever we work! We’re very collaborative. You might hear someone call for “G/Jen”, which will make both our founder, Jenny, and one of our top producers, Genevieve, turn around and say, “which G/Jen?”... it usually gets figured out.

Our Meetings

All of our meetings, especially our design meetings, are very collaborative and laid back. We’re a startup, so we don’t have those stuffy corporate meetings. Our LA and SF offices sometimes even work together during these meetings via Google Hangout. We’ll talk about upcoming events and designs and excitedly shout when we’ve struck gold on an idea. Everyone is friendly and honest, so it’s a really great environment to be in.

Lunchtime :)

We’ll order in, pick up, or bring food. Whatever we do, we’re always down for great food. When it’s not lunch time, we’ll munch on snacks from Trader Joe’s or drink some Kombucha tea.

Afternoon

Throughout the day, we’re on calls, Pinterest boards, emails, making graphics, designing. We rely on everyone to be motivated and driven, so everyone is always accomplishing something to help our company grow.

Drop Some Knowledge

Our Drop Some Knowledge Experience an ongoing process where our Founder, Jenny, teaches us anything and everything in the world of weddings and special events. We’ll have these sessions every few days or weeks... whenever we have time! It’s really great for everyone at Rock N’ Events -- from interns to producers -- because there’s always more to learn and ways to bring more value to our star members.

Power Hour

Power Hour is the last hour of our workday to wrap up our daily goals. Even if we’re behind, some way some how, we get everything done by the end of the day. That’s one of the perks of having hard working star planners who are always committed to bringing our premiere celebrations to life.

Each new year comes with new promises and TONS of motivation to be our best. Saying goodbye to the amazing past year means saying hello to one that will be even better! Here is our guide to starting the new year off right.

1. Reflect on the past year

Before you truly let go of 2017, take a few minutes to reflect on all of the progress and experiences that this past year brought us.  Take time to journal what you’re thinking, and get it all down on paper so it’s no longer on your mind. Focus on who has surrounded you with love and happiness, as well as experiences that have done the same.  All of the lessons that you learned will fuel you to make 2018 even better.

2. Say goodbye!

Go through your room, your office, your space and GET RID OF THE OLD! Cleanse your life of things that you don’t use or need. These things just clutter up and make life more stressful at the end of the day. Letting go = being free. This goes for negative things, negative vibes and negative people! 2018 is for #goodvibesonly. It’s time to make room for all of those good vibes that the new year will bring!

3. New year, new ME!

Treat yo’self! You’ve made it through another whole year! Before you embark on this year's journey and begin conquering even more life milestones, take a little time to appreciate yourself for all you have accomplished. Did someone say #SpaDay?

4. Revamp your New Year’s resolutions

It’s easy to get carried away with your New Year’s resolutions and the list can start getting intimidating. Limit yourself to three resolutions. Think about things you could have done better the year before and how you’re going to make those positive changes happen this year!  Maybe it’s finally taking that art class you’ve been wanting to, or being more spontaneous. With a smaller list, you can really focus on your #goals and make real strides!

5. Make Every Moment Count

Each year seems to fly by faster and faster. Whether you’re exploring new cultures on a trip through Europe or problem-solving in the office, take everything in. We’re all about personal growth this year and each moment comes with its own opportunities to learn. Soak it up!

Wake up and smell the social media coffee, Everyone!

Social Media has become and is rapidly evolving as the go to tool in assisting the planning and managing of corporate events! Used to disseminate information concerning the event(s), interact with the guest list, solicit feedback, and facilitate constant engagement with the intended audience. #YAS The employment of social media platforms such as, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and similar sites pre, during, and post the event will generate more popularity for your event to increase its success. *SHOCKER* Right…Ok maybe not, but you would be surprised how many companies don’t use social media to its fullest potential! Pictures, videos, boomerang, filter, hashtags OH MY! The possibilities are endless, why not participate in the hype!?! Seeing that this is becoming an extremely useful trend, the star team at Rock N’ Events are here to highlight 5 tips to best utilize the mighty power of social media in planning your next corporate event! #RockYourSocial  

1. Invite a *SURPRISE* Guest Speaker

Who doesn't love a guest speaker! Someone that can attend your event and give expert advice to your attendees! Also, having a guest speaker is a great way to give your corporate event momentum for the growing guest list. Using it as a promotional aspect to gain exposure for the event and the speaker. Chose a guest speaker that has a larger or promising social media platform so that their guaranteed presence will encourage attendance and popularity. Your guest speaker can post about attending your event as a guest speaker that would, in return, gain promising amounts of success! #Workwithoutworking

2. Host a Pre Event Happy Hour

WHO DOESN'T LOVE HAPPY HOUR! #CountMeIn Prior to the date of the event, host a Happy Hour event to get the attendees excited for the actual event! #eventsonevents During the Happy Hour event you can incorporate a custom #hashtag, and promote, promote promote! OH and don’t forget about having fun props for the guest to take photos with! Who doesn't love to put on massive neon glasses, glitter hats, and hold up signs with inappropriate messages on them?! #AmIRight? This activity will act as a fun interactive way for guests to gain familiarity with one another. This builds momentum for the actual event and promotes through posting their photos/videos/boomerangs taken your one of a kind pre event celebration! The Happy Hour event could involve a special reveal of the guest speaker who will be hosting the actual event, a Q & A, an auction, etc.!

3. Host an Online Poll - Interact, Interact, Interact! 

Prior to the event you can host an online poll to get you attendees interacting on social media with the event and with other attendees! This interaction could involve custom hashtags, written posts, picture posts, and/or video posts that will ultimately only generate traffic for your event. Hosting polls is an available feature on Facebook and Twitter, two of the worlds largest social media platforms that allow public or private publication and interaction. Even use a poll to decide the main events; choice of food, guest speakers, location, etc.! #givethepeoplesomepower 

4. Take Advantage of All Social Media Platforms (Seriously)

All Social Media platforms can provide you with slightly similar but also uniquely different features! Instagram is a photo and/or video based social media platform that allows written captions however, the photo and/or video aspect is the focus point! #DoItForTheGram Facebook and Twitter are similar in that they both allow photo posts as well as caption posts, together or separate! The slight differences being that Twitter puts a limit on the amount of characters allowed in a single Tweet and Twitter is hashtag driven! #TweetTweet Meaning that Twitter utilizes hashtags to generate knowledge about the intended topic. Creating custom hashtags for your event is a smart and effective way to keep attendees informed with all things pertaining to you event. And GUESS WHAT... hashtags can be utilized on all major platforms! Creating a custom, and easy to remember event hashtag will also be a great way for all attendees or others seeking information about your event! #HashtagsAreTheFuture

5. Post Recap Videos or Pictures from the Last Event #FOMOMUCH?!

Create a picture collage or a video from a past event that can be posted on several social media platforms and on the event website. That way attendees can reference back to this and see what the experience of the last event was like! Photos and Videos can basically be posted and reposted everywhere at any time on all social media platforms! That, however, is a blessing and a curse, so be careful! This allows for the repeated and virtually endless publication and republication of your footage. Being able to catch great visuals on camera and posting to generate popularity to your event will only create energy and excitement! #Goodvibesonly

So Far From Bora Boring!

Bora Bora, located in the French Polynesian islands, is the ultimate tropical getaway. There are so many resorts that have bungalows that plunge out over the ocean. Wake up and see the fishies through your glass floor! These secluded bungalows are perfect for relaxing in the sun on your private deck #ClothingOptional! There is no reason that you can’t just stay in, order room service and enjoy in-room spa treatments. If you need to get out of the hut, take a sailing excursion on a private boat, or find your way to the local restaurants! Just make sure while you’re there you don’t pull a Kim Kardashian and lose your $175,000 earring!

Tu Sei L'unico Per Me

Venice, you are the only one for me! Italy has so many different things to offer for those in love. Take in the Grand Canal on a gondola and be taken back to a simpler time! I promise it will feel like you’re straight out of a movie. Take in the cathedral ceilings at Saint Mark’s Basilica and revel in the old-world architecture! Of course, this is my favorite part of Italy- the food. Where else are you going to get the most authentic pizza and amazing pasta dishes? Sip your morning cappuccino, and later go out for some gelato #YUM!

If you feel the need to get out of Venice, visit Tuscany- only a two and a half hour drive. Here you can enjoy some of the best wines the country has to offer. Go wine tasting, take tours of the wineries, and take in the views that have been reflected in some of the most famous art pieces! #IFoundMyRomeo in fair Verona. Verona is known for being the setting of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and you can visit Juliet’s balcony, or go see a show at the Arena di Verona. Italy is perfect honeymoon spot for the couple who wants to eat amazing food, see the sights, and celebrate love #ItallianVibes!

Lay All Your Love on Me

Live your Mamma Mia moment if you honeymoon in Santorini, Greece! When I think of Greece, I think about the blue and white covered mountains, and Santorini doesn’t disappoint. This is the ultimate mediterranean honeymoon spot! Did you know that you can ride donkeys around town?! Well you can, and that sounds awesome if I do say so myself. Santorini is so lit- it’s on a volcano! Hike around town to find the best beach spots, or even take a romantic sunset cruise to see a different side of the island. Be a hero and eat a gyro! #SuchAGreek Greece is the perfect instagrammable honeymoon location, so put on your most flowy dress, floppy hat, and shades and snap away! You and yours will be living a lush life in atop the hills of Santorini.

Meet Me in Scotland Edinburgh

When I think about one of the best spots in Northern Europe to honeymoon, I can’t help but think of Scotland! With endless attractions, Scotland is perfect for the couple who loves the outdoors! With medieval castles looming across the countryside, there are so many fun tours to be a part of. Visit the Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels! Bag a Munro. I know what you’re thinking.. I thought it was hilarious when I first heard it too! Bagging a Munro means that you were able to climb one of the 280 Munros mountains. This can be dangerous so make sure you know what you’re doing, or have a guide! Dive among the shipwrecks in Orkney. If climbing mountains, and deep water diving is a little too adventurous for your taste, go on a countryside walking tour along the locks and valleys- just make sure to keep an eye out for the lochness monster! After a long day of searching for #Nessie, find a local pub and fill up on Whiskey and Haggis, and if you want, sail across the Irish Sea and visit the Jameson distillery in Dublin, Ireland, right next door!

Honeymoon Under the Stars

If you’re like me, and are an avid watcher of the Bachelor, you fell in love with Lapland, Finland! This below freezing climate will keep you snuggled up to one another to keep eachother warm #FeelTheHeat. Stay in your glass igloo and stare up at the sky, and hopefully you will see the Northern Lights! The aurora borealis are a phenomenon that not many people have the privilege of getting to see, and you get to do in your partner’s arms. If you are willing to brave the cold there is a lot that Finland has to offer. Take a safari through the snow and see the wildlife of Finland, swim with the seals, search for bears, wolves, and the Oh-So-Fabulous Wolverine! Let’s heat things up now. Take a trip to the local sauna and kick back in a steamy hot tub for two! It’s your honeymoon so why not let things get steamy #AmIRight!?

Design can be the hardest part of planning any event! We all have an idea of what we want it to look like, but there are so many ways where design can go wrong, fall into fad, and become outdated incredibly fast. I have a simple rule, if you wouldn’t put this in your home or dream home, why have it at your event at all?! But don’t worry, Rock N’ Events is here with some tips for those who may get dizzy-eyed at the thought of coming up with a vision for their event!

Pinspiration!

I know you have all heard me say avoid Pinterest, but I will always maintain that Pinterest is a great starting off point in finding what inspires you! Start off with a Pin Board of initial pins. Go crazy and look for interior inspiration. Whatever draws your eye, and makes you say “Ooo, I like that!” #PinThatShit! Whether it be bathroom tiles that have a modern twist, or the curve an armchair, it doesn’t matter- if it makes you feel something it is important to what your aesthetic is! When I go on a #pinge I like to look for different textures and color palettes. These small details are able to be brought into your event design, through specialty linens, flatware, favors, lighting, and every other elements of design!

Out-Of-The-Pins

When you start on design, don’t think ordinary! Imagine your dream home and all the trimmings. It’s ok to mix and match patterns, colors, and textures and to dream big. In my dream house I want a walk in shower with that orangey-pink shiny small tiles that makes showering a dream! But I also want a cozy cabin feel. My brain goes in so many directions that I like to find EVERYTHING that inspires me and narrow down from there. Going out-of-the-box is great, but again, if you don’t think you would like to look at it in your home everyday, don’t use it in your event design. You’ll have to look back at these photos for years to come, and just because you thought the blue horns all over the place would look cool doesn’t mean you will love it seven years from now!

Furniture Frenzy

Not every event needs a chiavari chair! Lounge furniture is a great way to bring a cozy vibe to your next event. A sprinkling of couches, or even swinging chairs will make your fans feel like they are at the most luxurious party they’ve ever been to! Look to cushions, ottomans, and pillows to bring in pops of color and create extra seating. It’s not something people think about often enough. By combining function and design in your seating will set you apart from the rest!

A Look Into Your Blogger’s Interior Design Style Decisions

Design is something that I love talking about! For a while when I was young, I toyed with idea of being an interior designer, then again I also wanted to be a dolphin trainer, but design is something I feel I’ve always had an eye for! #Bonus- you don’t have to get in a pool to create event design. When pinning for design I start with color searches, and I look for what draws my eye initially, what elements in a photo inspire me to think creatively? For instance say you want the color pink in your event design, but you aren’t sure exactly where you want it to go. There are so many kinds of pink that once you start pinning, you will see shade you are more drawn to and you can start crossing off certain elements. Go with your gut feelings! You will know what you like, and from there your brain can take it to new levels and create something that you haven’t seen before. Inspiration can come from anywhere, that’s what’s so great about design!

Timed Design

The worst thing you could possibly do is design your event two years in advance. Save design for closer to the event, when you know you will like the way it looks and that you won’t want to change your mind! When you have six months to choose to look of your wedding, or 2 months before your gala, you know that the design will be fresh, and something you can, and have to, stick to. The more time you have, the more time you have to change your mind, and burn out your design vendors. #PleaseDon’t

Enough weddings, this week I’m letting my imagination go crazy! Today we’re gonna go into what I would do for a Google Event. Here is how Rock N’ Events would do it #GoGoogleOrGoHome.

First off we need a blank canvas! It’s time to build from the ground up. With an event for someone as big as Google, they need to let the space speak to who they are! #SoFun! This event isn’t fussy- it’s a kickass party with an unlimited budget! #GottaDream A giant warehouse would be the best space for this kind of event in the heart of Los Angeles. It’s edgy, fun, and you can just imagine all the possibilities!

When you roll up to this party you are greeted with a bottle of Dom Perignon popped right before your eyes. Pick your favorite color silly straw and drink up! The doors open up and you are taken to a millennial dream world. This is no warehouse anymore baby. The bass is rocking the walls as you walk up to a huge adult playground! I remember when I was little always needing to go to the Burger King with the three story jungle gym. How fucking magical would it be to feel like you’re a kid again, but this time you get to enjoy your jungle gyming with a bottle of champs! This is what Google is all about to me- fun, innovation, and interaction!

Going off the idea of play, we go into a new staple in the tech world- Virtual Reality! A VIP virtual reality section would be the perfect way to take you anywhere in the world and beyond. This event is all about unforgettable experiences, and virtual reality can take you places you have only dreamed of, plus it’s hilarious to watch people roam around with those goggles on!

Now let’s talk about the food! The food needs to be as crazy and fun as the event, and is another experience. Chef Grant Achantz, known as one of the leaders in progressive cuisine, creates amazing dishes with very unconventional plating techniques. Wouldn’t it be amazing to walk up to a table that is the plate?! Being able to use the table and food to double as an art installation, and as a way to eat delicious food, like COME ON! #Dead. But along with the food we need bomb drinks! Imagine having a mixologist crafting specialty drinks while putting on a show. Drop the champagne and let’s party people!

Sip that handcrafted boozy delight as you watch Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Drake kill it on the stage. A performance from these stars is sure to make this one of the most #Extra events you’ve ever been to!

Hi there! It’s your resident blogger here at Rock N’ Events! This week i’m going to veer off the path, and tell you all a little about me. When I first started writing this I was having some trouble, because writing about myself is hard. Talking about myself… not so much! #INeverStopTalking But really, I want you to get to know a little bit more about the girl behind the keyboard.

So my name is Elise Byrne. Hi! I grew up in a little place called Beaverton, Oregon. It’s a small suburb of Portland- and before you say you want to move there, let me be the first to tell you… don’t! Just kidding, sorry, that’s the Oregonian in me fighting the hipster movement! In high school I was on the varsity cheer team, captain for two years #NBD, and I always did the spring musicals. Events to me are kind of like the theater. Your floor plan and design is similar to set design and lighting, there’s hair and makeup and gorgeous costuming, and every moment has a specific cue. The magic is seeing it all come together and knowing that the people in the audience are experiencing this performance with you. I have never been one to shy away from a spotlight, the performer in me is too strong! I just need to bring a directors chair to events now!

When I was little we moved around a lot, and I have never been able to stick in one place for too long! After high school I pursued my dream of being a performer, and that’s how I landed in SoCal! I attended Cal State Fullerton, and immediately knew that this sunny oasis was where I needed to be #NoMoreRain! Coming to a place where I knew no one, and had to put myself out on the line was a big step for me. It forced me to build a life and a family of friends here, and I couldn’t be more grateful. After a few years I decided to change things up. I applied, and was accepted into the Disney College Program in Florida, and off to another airport I went. Mickey Mouse will always have a place in my heart!

When I drove my little silver beetle back to California, I changed my major and started to really ask myself what I was good at, and what I could see myself doing for a long time. Brace yourselves folks… I chose... Communications. #ItSoundsEasyButIt’sNot! In the summer of 2016, on my birthday in fact, I walked across the stage to receive my degree. I have my family and friends to thank for all their love and support. It took me longer than some, but it was worth being able to look up into the crowd and see the faces of my mom, dad, and brother and show them I did it! My mom is my ultimate cheerleader, and not a day goes by that I don’t tell a story about Momma Byrne. Everyday I see a bit of her in me, and I secretly love it! #GoodScary

Story time! Once upon a time a girl came all the way from Oregon, and she met three incredible women who loved champagne and events just as much as she did, and she fell in love. #RNEFamily When I got the opportunity to start doing the blogs for Rock N’ Events I knew I had tapped into something special! I am so glad that every week I get to share a little bit of my voice with you all, it’s honestly something I look forward to every week. #LookMa I’m using my degree! It’s been a rockin’ ride so far and I can’t wait to see where our tour takes us next.

Another thing about me, I love love- I can’t help it! I have always been, and always will be, a hopeless romantic. Who doesn’t want to be serenaded and be given the ultimate grand gesture? No one, and if you said “not me” you’re lying to yourself! But let me be 100% real here, being single is actually so fun! Of course I want that special someone to sweep me off my feet, but right now it’s time for me to sweep myself off my own damn feet and fall in love with me! #SingleAndLovingIt When you have good friends, good food, and good booze, nothing can go wrong. Just like RuPaul says, “If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love someone else!”

If you’re still here reading this, #ThankYou, I want to let you know that I will keep the sass coming, I will keep it real, and I sure as hell will put on a show, because who wants to read about the ruffles and doilies when we can talk about rockn’ parties and out of this world experiences!? Not me!

There are so many ways to bring out the spirit of Mardis Gras without being cliche or over the top! Bring out the best of the celebration, and leave behind the topless ladies. This is a classy affair! With Mardis Gras right around the corner on February 28th, if you don’t know how to get past the peacock feathers and beads, let Rock N’ Events show you 6 ways to incorporate Mardis Gras into your wedding day.

1. Masks For Everyone!

Masks were originally worn during Mardi Gras to conceal people’s identity, and as a way for them to mingle within whatever social class they desired. Anonymity added to the excitement and majesty of the evening. Bring some flair and spice to your fans by giving away masks as favors. Watch your guests dance, mingle, and drink the night away in style! #FierceFans Find masks that mean something to who you are as a couple, or that match your colors. These favors won’t be thrown away, we can guarantee it!

2. Bring Out the Big Brass Band

Mardis Gras is all about JAZZ baby! #JazzCat! Move to the rhythm and blues, and have a live jazz band perform for your reception. Your guests will be on their feet and swingin’ in no time. Rock N’ Events loves to throw a killer party, and one of the most important elements is your music! Feel the jazzy vibes and your fans will be raving over how fun and awesome it was. Don’t go with elevator jazz, feel the bayou pumping through the air and go crazy!

3. Desserts Got Me Feelin’ Fat Tuesday!

No, you don’t need a peacock cake covered with feathers and fake beads. Also, please don’t make people eat purple and green cake! Stick to classic Mardis Gras foods, but do them with a twist! Instead of a cake, try a dessert station with an assortment of french desserts. King cakes are a fun way to get your fans involved- whoever finds the baby gets a special prize! Better yet, hide the little trinket in your wedding cake! You never know where it could be- just let people know that they are looking for the little guy. #SafetyFirst! Beignets, are the perfect warm treat to have that will make your mouth sing. First off it’s fried dough, second- it’s covered in powdered sugar. How can you go wrong?! You can’t. Wash down the treats with a nice mint Julep and you will be set for the night!

4. As Pretty as a Magnolia in May

The Fleur De Lis is a classic staple in Mardis Gras imagery! Find ways to use the symbol in your stationery or even in lighting. Gobos are perfect for projecting onto walls or a dance floor, and brings it all together. If you are looking for a something blue, find a blue fleur de lis pin, or sew in a patch and have the little detail for your photographer to catch. Use the fleur de lis on your cake, in your invitations, and much more! #FleurDeLisRealness

5. Second Line in New Orleans

Parades are obviously a major part and at the true heart of Mardis Gras. Make your own parade entrance or exit! This is called the second line! Flambeaux is an event where torches light the way for parade goers. You will be traveling down the street, looking amazing, and being accompanied by the best and biggest jazz band in town! I can tell you your fans will be lining the street to see your parade. No floats here, just lots of love, booze, and laughter! By incorporating a parade into your big day, you get to show off your new marriage not only to your closest fans, but to your new groupies in the quarter waiting to wish you good luck!

6. We Gonna Take You All the Way Down… To Bourbon Street!

It’s time for a trip down the bayou and straight into the heart of New Orleans! Take a trip to the french quarter and do a destination wedding. Nothing says Mardis Gras more than being in the center of all the action #LouisiannaTurnUp! Rock your second line, eat your cake and

Here Comes Baby! Now it’s time to bring your closest fans together and celebrate with a baby shower. You aren’t giving birth to a basic baby, so why have a basic baby shower?! Games are a staple to any shower, but leave the baby bingo behind, let people say the word baby, and dear lord, don’t make anyone eat chocolate out of a diaper! Rock N’ Events is here to show you 7 baby shower games that will rock your little ones’ baby shower!

1. Measure the Baby Bump

This game is fun because you don’t see it very often, and it is a really quick and easy game! The first step is to get everyone together. Have someone go around with ribbon and let your guests guess how long of the string to cut. Once everyone has their measurements, have mommy to be measure her belly! Whoever’s string was closest wins! #Winning Try using cute ribbon or yarn instead of something ugly and simple. Bring in some greenery with a floral garland for the mom’s bump measurement #FlowersForBaby!

2. Baby Bottle Chug

Get handsy with this activity! Build a baby out of playdoh and let the mommy to be choose her favorite. This is one of my favorite unique baby shower games. It’s like those old flip books where you get to choose each specific trait for the face of the newborn from mom and dad! Now I know you’re thinking to yourself, Elise- this is just a regular game, but what would you say if I told you to change the bean bags you toss. This one had to come in as an honorable mention because of how funny this would be. The first tip to picking the right venue is finding your ideal number. It’s all about budget, budget, budget! When you are looking at your overall wedding costs, about 40% of your overall budget will go towards your destination. Many venues require food and beverage minimums, and urge you to take advantage of their in-house catering. If you want more control over your wedding menu, look for a venue that allows outside caterers. This allows you to find the space you love, without having to spend an arm & a leg! #Ouch Your venue is one of the foundations of your wedding day, and it’s important to make your investments where it counts! Some venues will even throw in a complementary suite for you and yours to enjoy! #WeddingAfterParty

2. Where They At Tho?

Whether you are getting married in the middle of LA or the middle of Timbuktu, make sure that your venue is as convenient as possible for your guests. If you have a lot of local fans coming to help you celebrate, look for a central location! But, if you are flying everyone in from across the globe, make sure you look at proximity to airports and hotels, as these are the areas your guests will be. At Rock N’ Events we are pros at hotel blockings, some hotels even give discounted rates for large blocks! #DiscountsForDays

When you are looking into your venue and destination, don’t forget about parking! 5. It’s All About That Paper… Let’s talk Permits

It’s all about asking the right questions. First off, what am I allowed and not allowed to do. If you need to have your space covered in candle light, make sure to ask the venue if they allow candles to be lit. Know what kind of permits you will need, and what type of insurance is required for you to have in order to rent out your destination. The most common types of permits are temporary use, food, alcohol, sound, and assembly permits. If you are wanting to use fireworks, or do something that you are unsure the venue will allow, ask if you need a special permit! #INeedFireworks! General wedding insurance can cost anywhere from $150-$550, but the most generic insurance costs around $185 and covers up to a million dollars worth of damage, just in case.

Yes, that restaurant that he took you to on your first date, or your go-to spot is the perfect place to cover in flowers and feel secluded. Do you know how damn special I would feel if someone took over an entire restaurant for the night just so we could be together in our favorite place?! I would feel like a princess. Treat yo self, and your hopefully soon-to-be, to a night you won’t forget.

3. All in the Family

If you don’t need seclusion, get all of your family involved! I know my mom will definitely know about my engagement before I will. She’s nosy but loves being a part of my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If it’s not just me and my man, my family better be there! Try doing a scavenger hunt with her meeting friends and family along the way, or have them show up as a surprise after you pop the question. Your family will want to share in your celebration, and be a part of these big moments.

4. Blinging Around the City

2016 has brought Rock N’ Events some amazing successes. Mountains have been moved and milestones have been celebrated. We are beyond grateful for this past year, and are even more anxious to find out what 2017 has in store for us!

We started off 2016 by congratulating a myriad of new star members into the Rock N’ Events family. In February we set the tone for the new year by being nominated as one of the Top Ten Coordinators in Los Angeles, by Junebug Weddings. #Top10Baby! Things got Berry Beautiful in Malibu while shooting our estate editorial at Malibu Rocky Oaks. This gorgeous shoot brought us more star members, and proved that Rock N’ Events is truly buzzworthy.

Moving into the Spring, we continued to celebrate all the moments in our stars’ lives. The spring cleaning began with our online presence- It was time to REMIX and REVAMP! With a fresh face out to the world Rock N’ Events was ready to Rock the wedding season! June was a busy busy busy month for us. We started with our first collaboration with a non profit organization, Free Arts of Los Angeles. The Free Arts Fun Day celebrated the arts by getting kids involved, and the silent auction helped raise funds to create programs for kids in need in courthouses. After the Free Arts Fun Day, the team took a much needed vacay to EDC in Vegas! #WorkHard PartyHarder The buzz followed Rock N’ Events, and the publications kept coming. The Daily Breeze sat down with our founder Jenny Chang to talk about her successes!

We danced into July and made a splash with our Bollywood Bride editorial! This vibrant photoshoot dazzled the pages of Rock N’ Events. The summer brought new partnerships and in the craziness that is the wedding season we had many networking opportunities with some of the best vendors in Los Angeles. Just as the LA heat amped up, so did Rock N’ Events! August was a month for milestones. On August 14th the Rock N’ Events team sat down for brunch with our closest fans to celebrate our 3 year anniversary at Otium in downtown LA. #BrunchAllDay Good food, friends, family, and fabulous music was all we needed to celebrate in style! The last three years have been full of hard work and love, that it was nice to take a moment and drink some champagne! #ToastToTheGoodLife

We Work? Yes we do! In September we moved out of the South Bay and into the heart of Playa Vista at WeWork. This new creative environment has been such an amazing gift, and has allowed us to move mountains and make some serious connections! Bring on the BOOze, it’s October. This was such a fantastic month full of celebrations. We got the chance to surprise Jenny for her birthday and treat her like the queen she is! This was also the first time we got to throw an event at our own Wework community. Our Halloween Extravaganza was a blast, and some serious beer pong games were played! #LookinAtAWinner

We are incredibly thankful that this year has been so good to us, and November was all about giving thanks, and sharing gratitude. #ThanksForGiving We started off the month by partnering up with Muse and O’muze to give them a successful launch party, that gave glowing reviews. Jenny then set off for Costa Rica to conduct our first ever destination editorial at Punta De Vista. Inspired by the people, and the kindness she experienced on the islands, Jenny came back to LA with a renewed hunger and drive. This gave way to Rock N’ Events taking the pledge to go green and take care of our environment and the people in it. We gave thanks for our team at our turkey day celebration! A potluck was the perfect way to come together and toast to each other.

#DecemberDesigns! The beginning of December was full of design meetings and getting creative. This was also the month where Rock N’ Events officially announced that we are branching out to San Francisco. From South Bay to the Bay Area! We are ready to rock NorCal. With the holidays fast approaching, we wanted to find a way to give back. Welcome to our first annual Playdoh Under The Mistletoe toy drive! It was great to see our community come out and support Toys For Tots, and give to those kids who are less fortunate during the holidays. We hope to continue this tradition and only see it grow!
