You guys about a half mile in I got so choked up. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out IN a trail. I’ve avoided the narrow single track over grown wild stuff

But I didn’t care about ticks (of course hubs looked on before hand while I applied my picaridin, deet, and picarithin (or however it’s spelled) 😅

Hubs is just like “are you sure all of that is good?”

I’m not sure about anything other than I don’t want more ticks imbedded in my body-thank you.

There was a dad and his daughters behind me

And the whole way he’s coaching his two girls. The older daughter had an ankle wrapped up and they passed me on a hill at one point. I thought-what a great dad-coaching his kids along this gorgeous trail run.

Well…later on I passed him and the older daughter. I had caught up to them after he let the younger one go on ahead and he was trying to get the older one to speed up. She was explaining why she hurt…

Gahhhhh

I so badly wanted to say “don’t be a dick and ruin this for her, Dad!”

All in all

It was a great day in Hell!

Hubs took a wee bit of shine off my run asking me why it took me ten more minutes to do a race that was a mile shorter than my last race.

Dude-road race vs very hilly twisty turny rocky rooty washed out trail!??
