Guyyyyyyyyyyssssssuhhhhhh. My biggest heartache in life is not remembering restaurants/bars/yoga studios people tell me to check out. I write them down in my notes app, and then they disappear into the deep abyss of my 5,000+ notes, never to be seen again. I found an app that fixes this- It's called @spotr_app. It's really easy to use and pulls photos from Instagram for a location so you're always in the know about ambiance and what the food looks like (sh*t matters😅) The feature I love the most is the reminder function. Thank you for seeing the good in me and what I do year after year(s)- for being patient when I'm quiet, and understanding when I'm loud. For loving me exactly as I am, knowing every last societal-dubbed weakness, and industry-labeled flaw. For always seeing my potential and remindin me on the regular. You are the real. _____________________________ What an interesting year it has been for me- through all of it I would be no where good emotionally if not for Yoga. Training for my YTT last year was transformative. It required me to stare at what wasn't working for/with me anymore, and allow the space to imagine a better circumstance. In a lot of ways things changed for the better, in many others it continues to change; showing me a paths that seem terrifying but ultimately will be what I need. Why does any of this shit matter? I wouldn't have the confidence in myself to make hard decisions or explore scary roads if Yoga wasn't there to hold me. It has been my ultimate protector. It's what I need day in and day out- and I want to pass along that gift to you; if you need it. @Patbailey has created the @igyttfund to give Yoga Teacher Training Scholarships to those of you who want to grab this gift of Yoga and GROW. I once read on a popular Instagram Yogi's account that not everyone should be a Yoga Teacher. Sure, not everyone should be one, but if you want to try, F*CK IT ALL AND TRY. Yoga isn't finished at the end of a training, class, immersion, retreat, it only begins. It keeps going until you get where you want/need to be. Maybe that's as a teacher, maybe that's as a practitioner, but you will not know where that road leads if you don't start walking. I used to run from pain. Anything that felt remotely uncomfortable I would just dip out immediately. And then one day I stopped; I stopped running. I accepted pain as a reminder that I needed to evolve. That whatever hurts is a warning sign that something isn't working for me anymore. It's uncomfortable, it's hard and it hurts, but it doesn't end my world. No pain I've encountered thus far has done anything but make me better, stronger, and more vibrant.
