This month has went by right before my eyes. The course for this month was our final project and thesis. My expectations of the course was to primarily work on our final thesis paper. My expectations were close but not all correct. The focus was about getting us prepared for our career. We were required to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the knowledge and concepts across this subject. We were required to prepare a website that includes multimedia assets and a channel mix supporting the pr plan and demonstrate an understanding in research skills, technical skills, and writing skills that have been acquired in the program. 

Understanding the complexity of the professional and academic writing process was a big part of the course. Upon writing our thesis, there were many requirements when writing this paper. We applied principles and lessons that we best practiced when executing our capstone project. We also produced and published a video presentation report that was based on our final project topic which combined all we learned in the program. 

In addition, we got the skills and knowledge to differentiate among the theories of Public Relations as it pertains to certain case studies. This lead us to analyze outcomes and limits of research and theoretical frameworks. We are now able to discuss the types of evidence used to substantiate any claim made in a professional or academic report. 

This month the course we were part of was the Online Media Room. My expectations of this course was primarily about creating content for the web and engaging with our audience. It turns out I was halfway there. The focus was not about particularly creating content; it was about creating strategies used to engage with your perspective audience.

Firstly we had to examine other user and company websites in order to grasp the concept of creating strategies. This enabled us to get a jump start on having a relationship with the media and public.

My original objective was to continue creating insightful, informative, and advantageous content. This course allowed me discover new strategies which gave more depth to my content, enabling me to develop new relationships associated with with my client.  

These strategies, practices, and marketing skills can be very useful when creating an individual professional brand. Personally, these skills and obtaining such experience is very useful in this digital world. It allows you to create advantages for your self as a professional.
