Useful advice learned the hard way: Don't have a mental breakdown cry right before you remove your contacts. They will super-suction to your eyes and make it difficult to remove them.
table tennis
I remember during summer vacation in high school I woke up pretty late one day (about 3pm or so, not terribly unusual for me when I didn't have anything to do). I went downstairs and put the clean dishes away and put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, started it up, and went back to my room to play on my laptop.
My mom comes home about an hour later and asks me if I did the dishes and vacuumed. I told her I did the dishes, but I didn't vacuum. When she asked why I didn't, I told her that she didn't ask me to.
Here's the thing, she says she did ask me before she left for work that morning. She said I sat up in bed and looked at her as if I was awake and answered her with some sort of acknowledgment.
I don't remember ever waking up at all that morning, and I don't have a history of sleep talking. Super weird.
"Why do you take antidepressants? They unnaturally alter your brain."
I take antidepressants so my family isn't constantly asking me why I'm sad; so they aren't worried about me all the time; so I don't have random outbursts of anger and sob uncontrollably when I'm faced with any minor inconvenience; so maybe, just maybe, I won't consider myself a worthless piece of shit who is nothing but a disappointment to everyone around me; so I don't think that everyone hates me and is just pretending to like me because they feel sorry for me; because artificially created serotonin is better than no serotonin; because meditation and fruit smoothies don't always work, Karen.
I take antidepressants to function in society.
I take antidepressants to feel normal.

I really believe that everyone is a little bit racist. At least unintentionally. I believe that only babies and toddlers are 100% not racist because they don't know the difference yet. They haven't been fully influenced by the adults in their lives, or by their peers. They just see other human beings.
I like to believe that I'm not racist, but I know there's at least some unintentional racism in me. Like when I judge someone right away before I'm like "oh shit, no, get to know them first."
Judging a whole group based on the actions of a few is like throwing away all of your clothes because one sock has a hole.
So I discovered that if I push my nose up so it's flat, my upper lip in the center moves up to resemble the mouth of a Who
Where are you, Christmas?
Things that suck:
Vampires;
Stepping on Legos barefoot;
Inflation;
Your ice cream cone falling on the ground;
Working 40+ hours a week and still being just barely above poverty level because you're not getting paid a living wage;
Watching a pet or loved one die;
Not having your own kingdom to rule over so you can freely guillotine selfish rich people who believe that you can survive a whole year on a measly $600 that can't even pay half of the bills you owe due to being locked down and jobless because of a pandemic that isn't going away any time soon, and think that you can save money if you just stop buying avocado toast and invest the non-existent extra money you have after all the bills are taken care of and put a portion of your paycheck into savings each month despite the fact that you've barely been living paycheck-to-paycheck for the past who-knows-how-long;
Vacuums.
When I was growing up, my mom and dad had different views on raising me.
My mom would supervise me or have someone else watch me while I played outside.
My dad, however, would basically let me play alone on the block he lived on. Sure, I wasn't allowed off the block or to go into anyone's house (both of which I did, and both of which got me grounded), but I was otherwise left unsupervised.

Watching a conversation unfold between a trump supporter and a trump hater on Facebook is amusing.
On one end, you have the trump hater bashing him with actual facts and evidence
And on the other end, you have the trump supporter saying "such an uninformed individual" and the rest of their replies are laughing gifs and memes without providing any counter-argument or explanation
I used to joke about getting Rona.
Then I got covid.
Now I joke about bringing a pandemic home and try not to think about the fact that my roommates are probably regretting asking me to move in with them and secretly want to kick me out but won't because I have nowhere else to go and they feel sorry for me π
I just wanna *sits on this and digs for 3 hours* Know what I mean.....
Anime side of Tumblr, i require assistance!
I watched an anime somewhere between 2007-2010 that already was a bit old. I've been trying to find it for years, but haven't had any luck because I can't remember the name.
The first episode starts off with this guy waking up on a train and leaving it on a small plane-like thing (kinda the same size as Naussica's glider, if I remember correctly) and flies to this boarding school/military training place. There's some kind of war going on. I believe it's a yaoi, or at least a light BL like Gakuen Heaven.
I've looked up all of the aviation anime, war anime, old yaoi/BL anime, and even just old anime in general, and it's not in any lists I've found.
I'm sorry I don't have more of a description to give you. I hope that this is enough to jog someone's memory.
For everyone on here with a uterus, I have created a new game in these times of the Rona. I call it: Period or COVID?
The game is fairly simple. When your uterus decides to punish you for not giving it a fertilized egg to nurture, try to figure out if that nausea or diarrhea is just from your uterus' anger issues or if you've somehow come down with COVID.
May whatever deity you worship be with you as your anxiety flares. Good luck.

I think I might be lactose intolerant.
Will I avoid dairy products if this turns out to be true?
Nope.
So I saw a tweet asking who your worst teacher was and it reminded me of my all time worst teacher. My 4th and 5th grade looping teacher (at my school, some teachers taught the same class two years in a row, hence why I unfortunately got her for 4th and 5th grade).
I had had a rough summer between 3rd and 4th grade, between changing schools (my new grade was just taught in a different school in the same town), being separated from all of my friends, being diagnosed with epilepsy that summer, and my dad dieing a week before school started (so hella depression time). To top it all off, I had a difficult time making new friends and had a slight learning disability with a mild case of ADD. Not a good combo.
Anyway, this bitch had hollow, sunken-in eyes, a black hole for a heart, and absolutely no compassion for those who are even remotely challenged. I had a medical ID necklace that I was playing with one day (admittedly disturbing class, but again, ADD), and she stopped what she was doing, marched right over to my desk, grabbed my necklace away from me and threw it in the garbage (that's hella illegal where I live, btw). I cried and she yelled at me for crying. I told my mom and she was furious. She yelled at the principal and my teacher, but nothing was done except for a slap on the wrist. Any chance my teacher got, she would make fun of me or my other classmate who had a major learning disability. Hella bitch.
Anyway, it was only after I went to sixth grade that she left the school (I like to believe she was fired) and moved down to Arizona to become the principal of one of the elementary schools. I have no idea how she became the principal and feel so sorry for those kids.
