Scene sneakpeak π₯
Citrus. Thatβs what I smelt when I placed my face against her neck. Sweet, tangy citrus.
The more I smelt the more I became more aware of my surroundings. I became more aware of who was currently in my arms. My grip tightened on her skirts as I took one last breath of her scent in, growling lowly βAdelola..β I felt her shiver, her head turning to look back at me.
Those eyes. Those beautiful golden big eyes that stared back at me with an emotion I canβt quite place. A small sweet smile graced her face βYes, Connie?β
And then somehow, I become even more aware. She isnβt mine. Sheβs Necosβ. I clenched my jaw at the realization. She isnβt Constantineβs. She isnβt mine. She belongs to Necos.
βCome back to my room with me, Lola.β The words left my lips before I could stop them. My brain told me to stop, to not go further with this. But the way her eyes shifted into something more intoxicating kept me put.
Her delicate fingers snaked up to my face as she laughed airly. βYou want me to go back to your room with you?β
I nodded, my face set in determination βYes.β
She hummed lightly, tapping my cheek as she went into deep thought. βWhat about your boss?β
I scowled βMy boss?β
Adelola studied my face, a sly grin forming on hers. She leaned forward, leaving a few inches between our faces, her voice dropping to a whisper βNecos, Connie. What about him?β
My scowl deepened. I tightened my grip on her, as if letting her go would have Necos swinging around the corner to snatch her up. βTo hell with him.β
I must have said the right thing because the next thing I knew I was being dragged off of the dance floor and towards the entrance of the building. I watched her back as she moved, storing away each away of her hip and the bounciness of her curls in the back of my mind.
Sheβs mine. She will be. Iβll make sure of it.
