Roan & Dapple Ranch is no where near moving away from western focused horse disciplines, however it's nice to have some variety. When we had the opportunity to couple a duo together to create Harbour, we were beyond pleased at the result of her. Harbour is not only easy on eyes, but she's easy to move through and around the ring even at her young age. Of course she still has some issues we're working on while she's young absorbing everything like a sponge, and we know she's going to be even better when she gets older.

We took the polls, you answered, and we delivered.

Starting in the beginning of July, we have three server shows and a fun bonus category that will be coming out for all of you to enter into: Halter, Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing, and a stall decorating competition. We're going to be offering server currency, breedings, exclusive custom content for your Sims and horses, and a few other cheeky surprises with community in mind. Once July 1st comes, you'll be able to find all of these shows in ⁠server-hosted-shows, and any questions you have can be directed into ⁠server-show-chatter. And of course, what would a fun competition be without an exclusive arena to do it in? We've been working behind the scenes on just that, actually! For this competition, we will be participating in the THPS Indoor Arena! The Midnight Riders (our Server Boosters) have already gotten it for themselves and have been getting themselves ready for competition early, and this will be available for download with all of the competitions coming up very soon. The best part is, if you don't have any traditional western horses, that's okay - every breed of horse is allowed to compete! We can't wait to see what you guys bring to the competition when it starts, and we're looking forward to sharing the first ever server shows with y'all. And of course we're not going to leave you hanging, so take a look at the outside of the front of this whimsical, rustic arena we're going to be offering for y'all soon!

This Spring season, get ready to flash some pastel colours and flowery designs -  whether you're reining out of the rain in the show arena, braving the mountain trail and looking to catch the judge's eye, or just looking for some fresh colours that your trusty steed can look good and feel good in on your daily rides. Whatever the occasion, who doesn't love to take a bit of Mother Nature's artwork with them wherever they go?

This collection boasts 23 swatches of both a western blanket and medicine boots with bell boots. While the blankets are all filled with flowery designs with a subtle wool pattern, the medicine boots are solid colours that match the blankets.

Some of the blankets come with the leather patch where the girth is, but some don't - I was more focused on making sure the design could be seen and admired on the blanket.

Emerald Creek Designs and I are so happy to announce the opening of our brand new server, The Hitching Post Sims - a western themed Discord server that is focused on western sports, western themes, the cowboy culture, and most importantly: our tried and true western horses. Hailey didn't see many western Sims riders in this community, but she knew we still exist - and this is the new place for us. And the best part about this community is that even if you have English horses and are an English rider, there's nothing stopping you from throwing on a western saddle and trying your hand at some of the western aspects of the pixelated equestrian world. Here's what we have to offer so far:

A Humble Beginnings Community We have been a part of the Sims 4 horse community since Horse Ranch came out back in 2023, and even the Sims 3 horse community since 2011. Since then, we have seen the growth that has come with this game. We decided that we wanted to pull this community into another direction, and that's where The Hitching Post Sims decided that this was going to be a western themed server for the focus to be on the most rustic sort of lifestyle.

Respectful & Relaxed'round these parts, if you treat others with respect then you will get respect in return. Our staff team is dedicated to keeping this place safe, drama-free, and chilled out as much as we can. If you come into this server with a good attitude and a willingness to be respectful and follow the rules, you're gonna have a good time in here.

Interaction Among CommunityWhat is the most important part about the community? The people, of course. In The Hitching Post Sims, we have created multiple ways to interact and connect with your fellow cowboys and cowgirls and your horses, such as: - Multiple text channels to chat away about random events or the game, - Picture channels for you to post about your daily life like what you ate today, how your beloved plants are looking, your real life pets, and more, - A voice chat where you can either participate in talking to some like-minded individuals or you can just sit and listen while doing something else, - Create horses, Sims, or other pets and post them for sale where you can make money with our in-server currency system, as well as buy other peoples' creations, - Participate in picture shows or randomized shows from clubs to earn prizes such as in-server currency and other creations from the community, - Customize your profile with a role colours, your favourite horses and sports, and even figure out which pings you would like to receive news about in the server, - Shop custom content for your game, and even post your own if you're into that sort of thing, And there's more coming as we grow!

Western/Mountain Trail Show, hosted by WUSA!

Our first show is getting going, hosted by Wranglers United Sporting Association - WUSA, for short. WUSA is owned by Knox, who has put together a beautiful show with some great prizes to win. You can only enter in the server, so make sure to head on over to the Show Arena, and in t-shows you'll find the link to the show for you to enter in.

Spring Time in the Mountains feat. Ryleigh & R&DR Outlaw Orbit Rider

The weather was finally nice enough that we could justify going into the mountains for a trail ride. We decided this was the best time to get some of the youngsters ready for the western/mountain trail scene more intimately. Ryleigh was on R&DR Outlaw Orbit Rider, aka Nimbus, who took to the trail really well for his first time.

We weren't even supposed to keep Nimbus in the first place, but since we ended up doing it, it has been nothing but a treat to get to know this young man. He's so willing and curious about things that it makes it easy for him to want to go out to a new place, like a mountain, and get to know the lay of the land and put his hooves into the streams.

You'll be show ready, matching with your pretty pony in the ring to show off for the judges with these show shirts and saddle pads that coordinate with one another!

10 shirts and saddle pads are included in this pack. The required meshes for these to work in your game are Standardheld's Western Tucked Shirt (Strangerville is needed for this mesh) for the shirt, and MorningstarEquestrian's Western Pad.

These shirts are meant to be tucked in to most jeans to mimic the same criteria for dress code at a western show. Just need to take into account the fact that the design on the side of the shirt might be hidden depending on the height of your jeans going up your female Sim's waist.

The saddle pads are a realistic fit, so make sure to use a saddle that is realistic fitting to your horse. Otherwise, if you want to use a EA fit, make sure to use either T.O.O.L, Wicked Whims poser, or Wonderful Whims poser to seat your rider correctly on the saddle.

These were released to the Server Boosters of the Kimberwick Discord Server on August 29th, 2025. For the rest of the Kimberwick server, these will be released September 5th, 2025.

First Snow of the Season feat. Levi & PЯ Starlit Cat

While the riders are competing in competitions in other parts of Chestnut Ridge or other countries, there is one person who stays grounded at the ranch and does the every day duties to keep our horses and other employees safe, happy, and healthy: Levi, the other owner of Roan & Dapple Ranch; Cowboy to the bones. This working season is especially exciting, as we were lucky enough to be considered for and given the opportunity to lease PЯ Starlit Cat from Paleo Reins. Lynx, the beautiful boy who is being worked today, didn't seem to be prepared at all to be working in the snow. It took a couple of minutes to coax him out of the shelter while he inspected the cold white dust that kept falling onto his nose which was poking out from the shelter. Eventually he was brave enough and the snow melted off of him when he was working and sweating, so it was worth the little wait to get him ready and going. We're sincerely hoping, especially after today, when our 3-month lease ends with him we will be considered for a permanent home for Lynx to stay. Already we can tell what a special boy he is - even Levi said he's one of his favourites already.

Eventing Breeders Trophy: Leg 7 feat. Sadie & R&DR Elfenbeinschloss; Morgan & BSH Freckle Foot Shindig; Jill & ASA Süßes Gift

We're nearing the end of the Eventing Breeders Association yearly eventing run, but we have been determined to catch up to some of the more advanced horses in the club while we still have the chance. This time, during Leg 7, we brought back some of our best competitors to take home more glory. Returning are Sadie Harken riding Castle (our grey Anglo-Arabian mare), Morgan Deacon-Bell riding Stevie (our dark bay Anglo-Arabian mare), and Jill Gilmore riding Sicarelle (our chestnut appaloosa Araloosa mare). All of our riders and our horses did their best and competed fabulously, as that is nothing short of Roan & Dapple Ranch standard. Once again, we're so blown away by the talent, drive, and love that this team - both human and horse - have for one another and the sport. Soon it will be 2025, and that will bring a whole new set of challenges and hurdles to our ranch, but we'll be tackling it the same as we always do.
