Earlier this week, Sho and the Master Bartender opened a Twitter account to promote Bar ROAD59! 🍸

They frequently tweet about their everyday shenanigans and interact with commenters, so do check them out and support Sho on his first attempt with social media ^^

Also, comment or QRT a cocktail you'd like them to serve you on this post, alcoholic or not. They'll add a neat little insight into what you ordered or how they're preparing it.

After completing the main story, players will unlock an "Extra Story", featuring two self-contained side stories:

The Tenkai Ward Police from the POV of Sui: "A Convenient Ally of Justice"

The Kurojou Family from the POV of Kazuomi: "A Betrayal for Someone's Sake"

These stories serve to fill in gaps from the plot and depict events that occurred behind the scenes throughout the main story.

This is just purely for fun and not canon. So far the only character's age that's confirmed is Kaya's, who is revealed to be 17 in the second stage play. A lot of my guesses are based on the character's appearance, their interpersonal dynamics, or the implications made in their quotes.

There's a fourth major PHOENIX member that doesn't appear in ROAD59's visual novel! You can tell by her appearance, but she is a nun - or rather a "Mother" (this is a term in ROAD59's meta, we'll get into that in another post).

Maria is subdued, soft-spoken and polite. As a priest, she is stern and condemning towards improper behavior. But she's also a combatant working in the underworld, and is ironically tolerant of the morally questionable schemes conducted by her fellow co-workers, or the yakuza.

Irina is a trained hitman for the PHOENIX mafia who embodies a kuudere archetype. She's quite blunt, but detached and indifferent to situations that occur around her. Her job makes her have a pragmatic and efficient approach to handling tasks, which 51% of the time includes attempted murder.

Anthony is chirpy, upbeat and an extreme klutz. He's sometimes pigeonholed into comedic relief, but is a competent and adorkable character in his own right. He can be loud and hysterical too, but speaks politely to everyone, friend or foe.

He's like a Golden Retriever, but his military background and current job as Benedict's bodyguard makes him more of a Doberman (per Aoi Shouta's words). Anthony grew up as a child soldier, and his extensive experience made him skilled in fighting and rational in managing a team. As a result, he is pretty desensitized to crime and violence.

Benedict is a charismatic, stylish, flamboyant Italian man who's VERY expressive and unhinged. He talks in theatrics and gesticulates his words a lot. He loves aesthetics and values beauty in all forms. He is also a businessman who runs a chain of [casino] hotels, so you can bet he's extravagant with his wealth. Benedict's also like a dad towards Irina and Anthony, his close subordinates.

Maybe he's an antagonist? Maybe he's an anti-hero? Or neither? Benedict's quite complex and has questionable morals. Much of his motives and background are shrouded in mystery. He leads the Japanese branch of the global mafia federation PHOENIX, but his subordinates are baffled by his Disney Princess whimsy and even his superiors don't understand anything he spouts.

Sara is Renge's younger sister, and as I wrote in her own overview, she's also playful and affectionate with Renge. She presents herself as refined, ladylike and elegant. But at the end of the day, just like her sister, Sara's a total mean girl and snob.

Think about the ojou-sama archetype you often see in anime and Japanese games. Sara isn't outwardly cold or brutal as Renge is. But because of her large ego, she'll verbally mock and bully anyone she sees below her. Even her own teammates. Sometimes, she's willing to get physical!

Renge is a short (literally) fuse with a sense of style. She's standoffish, cold, and patronizing to anyone that's not her younger sister, Sara. Of course, she keeps this in check around her boss Kensei. She expresses sadistic and ruthless glee in battle and enjoys tormenting her opponents. Plus she HATES to get bossed around.
