God Gachiakuta’s team needs a pr manager so bad….. like im sorry i really love that manga but genuinely every time it starts to pick up momentum either Urana or Andou starts fighting with random twitter accounts and the momentum gets killed like LOG OFF!!

People were really unhappy with the choice to make Jason lead a section of Teen Titans but to be honest I think if its done properly it’s a good extension of the theming linked with him since DitF of child sidekicks’ safety and could work well building off the established trait of (somewhat justified) disillusionment and belief that other sidekicks are being failed too (Seeing Red and Teen Titans 29, despite frequent misinterpretation, were both at least partially in-universe intended as drastic warnings about the threat child sidekicks are put under.) Like is it not a pretty ubiquitous trope to have up-and-comers coached by jaded former players?

It’s pretty cool to see how major the theme of people’s identities being formed by their environments (or film preferences) is across Fujimoto’s work. I think as time goes on he’s overall refined it (although my personal favorite examples were Togata and Doma from Fire Punch) but it’s nice that it’s a question he clearly thinks a lot about, and you can recognize it across almost all of his work, so it’s a pretty consistent lens to read his stories through that adds a lot to his characters.
