Genuinely needed Katsuki to have a little conversation/moment with the floating UA squad after war. Like, they all were horrified when they saw his death (specially jeanist, aizawa, and monoma) and some fought to death to protect his lifeless body (edgeshot, mirko, etc). But unfortunately, hori didn't view Katsuki as an independent character in postwar/epilogue, he just treated him as a tool to further/fix other characters' arcs. Sigh.
The author gave us that big intense emotional weight and never a conclusion to it. It felt like hurt/no comfort. (specially if you were here back then and were dragged for one year and a half just to see him alive again 😭) All we got is the two lines that went between him and edgeshot.
(aizawa should have sat him down and had a talk with him about valuing his own life more. He literally saw that he walked towards death. When izk breaks a finger, everyone and their mother scold him and tell him to have self-esteem. why not doing the same for Katsuki? He also is a child that needs to learn to value himself more )
