bennett & violet // love me tender
Nervous was quite the understatement. Doing his thing was easy when he knew it was just old ladies ogling him from the crowd, but the idea of having someone he was familiar with (especially the girl he liked) watching him perform was just… horrifying.
But he couldn’t let her know that. “Psh, nervous? I’m good to go.” Maybe if he said it enough, he could convince himself that it was true. “Good… to go.” There was a pause. “Peachy?” Shit. She was gonna see right through him. (Though it wasn’t like he was hiding it well in the first place).
“Peachy.” Violet reiterated as she paused to look out of the window to hide her amused smile, “Right.” She mumbled under her breath. As they pulled into the back parking lot of a small local theater, Violet could even feel her stomach fill with butterflies, mostly because she had no idea what she was in for, and didn’t want to end up being completely turned off by his existence once the night was over. “Well, if you’re good to go, then I guess we better get going.” She stated, practically grilling him as she glanced over once the car came to a complete stop.
