What a wicked game you play, you make me feel this way What a wicked thing to do, make me dream of you What a wicked thing to say, never felt that way What a wicked thing to do, make me dream of you And I wanna fall in love And I wanna fall in love with you
“Rio’s energy is unlike anything else she’s ever felt in her life. He’s got this sort of calm, cool, collected, I’m not fazed by anything vibe, which is the opposite of anything else going on in her life. He looks her up and down and makes her feel crazy inside. “

You would think with an extra three episodes added to the count - therefore extra time to explore and explain and give important details - the overall arc of the season leading into the finale would make more sense, not less. That with those extra episodes things wouldn’t feel rushed, and like pieces of the story are missing in a way that doesn’t feel entirely deliberate.
Then again, when you throw character development out the window to achieve shock value, to justify twists and undeserved character redemption, perhaps an extra three is three too many.
Whatever happened to feeling satisfied with season finales? I’m all for leaving people on the edge of their seats, desperately wanting more going into the next season, but when you take that to a place of such disappointment that it instead leads to a feeling of: “I’m not sure I even want to watch this show anymore”?
It’s not good storytelling, and a total waste of the potential to simply do better when given the advantage of more time in which to do so.
Of all the emotions I thought I would be feeling post-finale devastated wasn’t one of them, yet here I am - I’m just so... sad. I’m guessing from your tags in your recent posts you kinda feel the same way?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I am overwhelmed by how the finale affected me. I didn’t watch the east coast showing because of the spoilers, and was fed info from friends. And honestly, it didn’t seem so bad. I could have lived with a lot of it. I probably will live with a lot of it.
But then I actually saw it and like… I’m sad about about the plot holes, I’m sad that it was obviously rushed, I’m sad that we got to see Beth being kind to Dean even tho he didn’t/doesn’t deserve it at all, I’m sad that Boomer is alive and MP didn’t get to win against her rapist, I’m sad that Rio was reduced to a gruesome twist meant to evoke horror.
I cried for about 30 mins after it ended because I was devastated by the last 2 minutes of the episode. I know logically that Rio will most likely survive, and that he and Beth will cross paths again, but I’m so torn up from watching him bleed out and suffer… I can’t even look at gifsets of him getting shot without immediately tearing up and feeling sick to my stomach.
God. It hurts, man. It feels really bad. So yeah, I’m sad. Really sad. I would have been able to keep watching the show if they hadn’t done that last bit. But now I’m not so sure. I have a feeling I’ll go back and forth a lot over the next 9 months or so until season 3 starts.

The season finale might’ve been a disappointing, OOC mess but props to the incredibly talented actors for all their hard work, especially Christina and Manny for acting the hell out of their last scene.

Just when I think there’s no way I could be more disappointed r.e: the season finale (based on the spoilers) people on Twitter are like:

So, what did you wanna talk to me about?
Adorable
“There’s a niggling feeling in the back of her mind that says this may not be the best idea, but she smothers it, letting that anger drown it. If Rio can be a petty asshole, so can she. And she is going to revel in it as much as he seems to.”
