the city still confused junhong. it was different from his hometown of los angeles, a different feel that seem to run through the city. so there was often time where the rapper hopeful found himself in awe on what seoul had to offer. be it through a new club or even some odd thing he observes on the way to work. 

and it was no different today. someone seemed to be playing the part of a magician, calling attention towards the the passerby as they went along their daily lives. lulling the crowd in with different tricks, and as junhong moved closer it seemed the magician had moved to hypnotizing a passerby.

it’s too late ( no too early ? ) - when junhong leaves the last club of the night - the ringing of the bass is echoing in his ear. this was the last time he was club hopping with these group of friends, they were on the same level of abgs and frat boys he used to hang with in california. and there was a reason he left that group behind when he moved to korea earlier this year. 

but that’s beside the point, junhong had found himself in some twenty-four hour mini mart - dying phone in hand as he struggled to bring the plastic bowl of ramen to one of the outdoor tables along with the bottle of water he had purchased.

his hometown was fun. the warmth and clear sky of california rejuvenated the young rapper and junhong had to admit ( even if he was still annoyed at his parents ), it was nice to be on his home turf. with his old friends - and it always felt more at ease when he was in a music scene of some place he really understood.

not that he disliked seoul. it was an experience for sure  - the sounds, the sights and even the people were something that drew in junhong.

so when he returned from los angeles, the first person he goes to visit is his dear friend, triple crown winner himself, im jaebum. a rather cheeky grin appearing on his lips as he took out his phone to text the other male that he was in front of his apartment.

junhong doesn’t remember exactly when he became close with yeji. all he knew was that hey had clicked through their love of the same music genre. somehow they clicked and junhong considered her to be someone he trusted as he fumbles through his new life in south korea. even if he followed yeji through the underground world of south korea’s hip hop scene like some lost duckling. 

he wasn’t sure how yeji felt about having a lanky and somewhat obnoxious young man follow her to any club and whatever gig that caught his eye.

and being rather spoiled himself, junhong didn’t really care because it was fun hanging around yeji - and it was a great way to gain experience in a field he was so new to.

this weekend was no different - junhong had found out that one of his favorite korean rappers ( microdot ) was doing some show in hongdae and he had quickly texted yeji the flyer before calling her in a burst of delight.

⇢ what are you talking about? i text you first all the time ⇢ making me sound like a bad friend… ⇢ anyways i have a few ideas but we should get food first ⇢ i haven’t eaten in a couple days so i’m quite literally starving

jaebum’s tired of handing out flyers. he feels as though after each one he gives out, he’s lost another single part of his soul. he’s literally out here selling his company – and for what? they haven’t taught him anything, at least not as of yet. he’s not sure why he’s supposed to be giving his loyalty to an empire that undermines what it means to be a creative artist in the entertainment industry. then again he’s not sure why he’s signed himself over to them, so he digresses – the flyers must just be making him that cranky. 

he knows junhong will appreciate a flyer, as junhong appreciates – for whatever odd reason – everything jaebum does. he’s not sure what he’s done to deserve such a constant hype. he thinks maybe that it’s because he’s frivolous with spending his money on his friends, although junhong’s just as rich as he. so the search to figure what it is about himself that invites such idolization for the younger is still on. he doubts even if he does find a reason, it’ll be one he can fully understand.

he sees junhong later that evening after a long day of handing strangers flyers only for them to look at him with disgust or annoyed expressions. some go as far as to knock it out of his hand and keep moving down the street in fits of laughter, which only ads to his overall mood for the day. 

“junhong,” jaebum says with a thick layer of exhaustion wearing down on his voice. “i have some of these left… would you like to help me out and take one?” he hands him a flyer for trc entertainment, hoping that junhong’s sense of optimism will somehow brighten his mood – as it usually does.

junhong was a rather carefree individual - he didn’t let most get to him and found the joy in various mundane experiences. after all, it hasn’t been that long since junhong had came to seoul as a free man, so he found joy in the little things. and that meant often times junhong found himself trailing around the various streets of seoul without a care of the world. and well while often times junhong ended up with a bit lost, well more like 45% of the time the young man ended up having to look up where he was to go back to his apartment.

so when he spots a familiar ( an amazing ) face - he can’t help but perk up at the fact he wouldn’t have to spend another hour trying not to scream at the subway lines. he was from orange county ! they didn’t travel by subway - hell he barely used the bus back in california. wait, he was losing focus. but regardless, he regained concentration and made his way to the older male. a large smile on his face as made his way towards jaebum who was currently passing out what he assumed were flyers.

though a frown escaped his lips at the exhaustion in his friend’s voice. he knew jaebum was going to become more prone to exhaustion but ! junhong didn’t know that it would hit the other male so quickly! gosh.. how intense was this whole training thing gonna be ? but he didn’t let his concern cloud his thoughts for too long, instead junhong found himself nodding his head furiously  at the shorter male’s question.

“ of course ! gosh my man, i thought you’ll never ask!” he chirped, clutching the flyer with as if it was a pile of winning lottery tickets rather than an entertainment company’s flyer. “ i can take like too man ! how many do you need taken ? i got your back gosh! how long do the big shots got you out here ? you need a drink or maybe i can buy some food for you. “ his speech quick, his words racing one another for the finishing line, something that happened often whenever junhong got too excitable.
