He was hesitant to even pass this one to her. Jeongguk knew how important becoming an idol was to his little sister. Not only had she witnessed how he got scouted while screaming like a chicken but now he was actually signed.

Taking a cautious step back as he let her read through the flyer, he fidgeted with his hands. “Hey you know… you don’t have to read it. Fuck KT man! I mean… we can do something else, I can take a break. Maybe get some warm drinks? On my of course!” 

this was probably the biggest struggle she had faced yet with her dreams. that even included being kicked out from her old company that had basically stolen her teenage years from her. this was a much more of a struggle, because it was easy for her to just hate her old company and all the girls who managed to debut in what would’ve been her group, but she couldn’t exactly hate her brother here. he was entitled to his dreams too, after all, it just stung, especially because it was kt. 

It’s been a while since she’s seen him, but Jisoo was pretty excited. She remembered it like it was yesterday, when she hit on the guy in that coffee shop. She couldn’t forget a face like that, he was gorgeous. And tall. She liked tall. Of course, Jungkook had sort of failed to mention that the guy was going through a heartbreak at the moment. 

She had been looking forward to hitting on him again and potentially getting somewhere with it, but it looked like the universe had other plans. His entire demeanor when she approached just spoke as somber to her. That was one broken heart. “Hey man, it’s been a while..” She started off pretty awkwardly. What was she supposed to say? She had no idea. 

“How’ve you been?” She hadn’t been up to much of anything different herself lately. She was still doing her musicals at school, still getting chorus parts, and still getting rejected at auditions for different companies to become an idol. She was determined, but it was either that she wasn’t good enough for the big companies or the smaller companies were all listening to her previous label she was signed to that booted her. So she’s been stuck, hopefully he wasn’t in the same boat.

“Jisoo! It’s great to see you again!” He says with a smile. Johnny gets up from his seat and pulls out the chair for her. She may be his friend’s sister, but that’s not an excuse to be more casual. His mother didn’t raise him to be rude to women. He can already imagine what his mom would say if she finds out he didn’t pull out a chair or offer a girl something to drink. “Have a seat. Do you want anything to eat or drink?”

“you-,” he begins but his reflexes betray him as he throws a bright, cheeky grin at the camera the moment she asks him to smile. no matter how scared or freaked out, Jeongguk would never pass up the chance to smile for the camera when asked to do so. out of revenge he took a picture of his sister as well, but only then when she was already occupied with her phone again.

“just another one added to the pile of regrets,” he mutters under his breath while lining up another shot to catch a zombie sneaking up on a clueless couple. at least these pics were coming out great to the point they even gave himself the chills. the specific interest in johnny doesn’t go unnoticed by him and only makes the elder sibling raise a brow.

now he was the last to tell his sister on whom she could and couldn’t date or hook up with but a part of him was still very much protective of both her and his friends. “don’t. I know exactly what’s going on in that brain of yours. you don’t stand a chance, little one. you know I’m the last to discourage you in whatever you want to do but this one is a dead end.”

she rolls her eyes at the candid shot he takes - after the fact, of course, once she realizes he actually took the shot of her. “did you get my good side? post it, i dare you.” she actually didn’t mind though. she kind of wanted to be on his social media, she wanted people to know she had a brother who actually wanted to spend time with her. it was... nice. 

he’s very harsh and unapologetic about his way of telling her ‘maybe you shouldn’t’ and if just makes her huff in annoyance. “you don’t know that.” she fiddles with her phone even though she’s not doing anything on it, if only to look pre-occupied while she gathers herself up. she finally looks over at her brother, looking unfazed by his words, but in all honesty it did bother her a bit. 

the phone held into his face did little to ease his already tense nerves, a defeated sigh leaving his lips as he shook his head in dramatic disappointment. “I trusted you… my own sister… betraying me like this. the dishonor, tch.” head tilted as he snarled his tongue the dressed up male raises the camera back carefully to his face, not wanting to get any of the make up on his precious baby.

“ehhh uhm… actually… don’t really remember. I was drunk… it was something stupid for sure. I think we did a no-blinking contest or was it… something jump scare like?” interrupted in his craft he straightens his posture as his gaze raises to the sky, eyes squinting while jeongguk attempts to remember. 

“there was johnny… and other people… holy shit, I didn’t think I had that many holes in my memory. why do I never forget the penalties doe? ugh. I wish I could have just gotten out of this with a simple ‘was too drunk, don’t remember’,” he complains while walking onward, grumbling under his breath.

“hey, trusting me was your mistake, not mine. i’m just here to carry out the consequences. smile!” she snaps a few more photos for good measure but doesn’t post them, rather holding onto them in case she needs them later. the absolute ‘done’ look on his face was priceless too. she’d want to keep it for nostalgia’s sake.

“of course you were drunk.” despite growing up in separate households, she was finding more and more that her and her brother had a lot in common. “you make all your dumbest decisions when intoxicated. it’s no shock that’s how you ended up here.” she shakes her head in disbelief, their father would be so disappointed, but not surprised either.

camera in hand he tries hard to keep his fingers steady and not jump at any sudden noise around him. his nerves are on edge and he’s close to murdering the person who set him up for this. it really didn’t help that he knows Johnny was around here somewhere, probably making sure he was indeed doing his task like the penalty asked of him to do.

jonghyun was a coward. there was no sugarcoating it. he hated horror and gore and everything in between connected to psycho shit. of course in his reckless drunk mind he had agreed to a stupid bet he had promptly lost and found himself in said situation right now. the only person he had trusted to come with him who would have his back was his sister. which seemed now was one huge mistake-

“listen- a man has to do what a man has to do sometimes. I lost the bet, so I suffer through it. they look creepy okay? I’m literally going to die from a heartattack here-”

jisoo snaps a couple pictures of him on her phone while he freaks out and promptly adds them to her instagram story with a snarky caption. she chuckles to herself, shaking her head. “well, it’s entertaining to watch you suffer, at least. i have to share this joy with our friends too.” she watches him a few moments more before she rolls her eyes and loops an arm with his, grinning softly. “alright, alright i’ll protect you from them. i got your back.”
